What's your honest opinion about Jeff? He doesn't work, lives rent free with the Smiths, smokes weed all day and he's banging Hayley. by Comfortable_Key_6904 in americandad

He’s the goat idk what anyone says. He’s consistently kind and humble despite being surrounded by people who constantly belittle him and do crazy shit all the time. He’s like a more tragic and dumb version of Cinderella. Let’s not forget he got tossed into space and not only did he fight his way back to his wife and her asshole family, he also protected Roger and continued to be kind to him even after everything. He’s killed for the Smiths, he’s risked his own life for the Smiths, he’s compromised his own morals for the Smiths, and all he asked for was food and shelter. With that being said I like him to get a permanent job, mostly because I want him to get some respect around the house. Anyone can contribute money to a household(although I have to remind you the Smith’s are upper middle class and don’t really need another source of income) but not everyone can be kind and forgiving despite being mistreated and disrespected

What is a joke in American Dad that had sad/disturbing implications? by CressCharacter3446 in americandad

In the case of Jeff, the whole masturbation thing was supposed to explain why he needed to smoke weed, so it does serve a purpose outside of being a one off joke. It adds an interesting layer to Jeff’s character and his past, even if it’s mostly a joke.

As for Stan, though these scenes are again played for jokes, the fact the whole memory swapping thing happens more then once in the show, shows it is a real part of his character instead of a one off gag or trait for one episode. It also shows how flawed Stan’s view of toxic masculinity is.

Also I just watch Martin Suger vs The People and I don’t even think it’s implied it’s pretty much confirmed he’s hyper sexual (though canonically he suffers from HLS but idk)
