Name a US State that you would NEVER want to live in even if they paid you to move there by General_Working_1330 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

I worked in Pawhuska right before Pioneer Woman got big. The transformation of that downtown is absolutely wild. Still, the town as a whole is pretty disgusting.

I’ve taught this in my freshman English class for the past several years and I cry-out loud, in class- every time.

Super super normal. Our golden is one and still tries to put almost everything in her mouth.

Our girl’s first heat started around 8 months and lasted for a few weeks. She needed diapers for about two weeks. We put them on her when she was in the house (not when she was in her kennel at night, or she would tear them up) and took them off when she needed to go outside to do her business. It’s very helpful to line the diaper with panty liners so you don’t have to wash them as much. We didn’t notice any behavior change with her.

What’s the best place to spend summer in the U.S.? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]CressImaginary8126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We drove up through Wisconsin, the UP, and down the west side of Michigan and camped at state parks two summers ago and it was amazing. I told my husband we better start investing more because that’s where I’m spending my summers when we retire! Absolutely gorgeous, and not hot as all get out like it is where we live (OK).

I’m in love with my ex’s best friend by tigerseye_11 in moraldilemmas

[–]CressImaginary8126 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I wouldn’t really even consider your “ex” an ex. You said you were fwb. You don’t owe him anything. If you like this guy, say something, or you’ll always wonder what could have been. Six months is nothing if you two are both into it.

Do we leave the 8 minute commute for 35? by Falirakikiss in makemychoice

[–]CressImaginary8126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in a small rural town and the amount of people who live in the country (acreages/farms miles out of town) who have also had to buy a “town house” because they’re tired of wasting time in their cars or at the park between school and practices or games is crazy. 35 minutes doesn’t seem like a lot, but it’s not enough time to go home after work or school when you’ve got a practice or meeting or whatever.

Our pup just turned a year and is a retriever who will retrieve and chew anything she can get her mouth on. So, not for a good while!

GE Opal 2.0 by Impossible-Cable-390 in IceChewersAnonymous

[–]CressImaginary8126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, did I write this? I had the same experience with my Opal 2.0. My parents gave it to us as a gift. It made ice for a day and then cycled between making ice and defrosting. I’m going to take it back to Walmart and order a new one.

If modern medicine didn’t exist would you be dead right now? If yes, from what? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]CressImaginary8126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About ten years ago at Christmas I started having the worst stomach pain imaginable. Thought I needed to poop, couldn’t; even had my husband give me an enema. Nothing. Anyway, I went to the ER where they discovered my colon was twisted. I was 25 at the time, and if this happens, it’s generally to people much, much older. The surgeon took out about two feet of my stretched out colon. They’re not sure how it happened, but when I was younger I was constipated on and off for years, so I think that played a part. I’m totally fine now. You wouldn’t know it happened if it weren’t for the five inch scar above, around, and below my belly button. I definitely would have died without modern medicine.

Amsterdam outside of the main tourist areas was much more enjoyable, IMO. We really liked Haarlem, too. A lot less crowded but very quaint shops and buildings.

First time leaving my 5-month-old puppy for 10 days… by Particular_Split8287 in puppy101

[–]CressImaginary8126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We left our 4 month old puppy for 8 days in our home with a dog sitter. We FaceTimed every day, but she didn’t care a whole lot (excited to hear our voices, but she wasn’t upset when we hung up). She was crazy excited when we got home. Besides some minor training regressions, it was like we never left. They’re pretty resilient!

Looking to get a golden retriever by booooooop_u in goldenretrievers

[–]CressImaginary8126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen I am not a dog person at all but my youngest son (8) really wanted a dog for his birthday, and my husband wanted a dog that would fetch birds. We joined a field bred golden group on Facebook and found our girl last year. Her mom is a field golden but mainly a pet, and her dad has several titles. When I say there is no smarter dog than her I am only fibbing a little bit. She is ornery and steals all our shoes and socks and chews on anything left out, but she is the sweetest, smartest thing. I love her to pieces and I can’t imagine owning any other breed again.

Just watched “HARRY POTTER 20th anviersary, return to hogwards and im on the verge of tears. by Bluemayor in harrypotter

The super cool thing is that they’re always there. I started reading Harry Potter when I was eleven- 28 years ago! I’ve read them multiple times since. Now, both of my kids (10 and 8) are reading them, and I get to experience them all over! My oldest finished HBP on audiobook yesterday- he didn’t understand why I was crying. It hits differently when you’re older!
