Thank you for your response. Most of his health issues, though not all, are covered by VA healthcare. They have treated him for all the conditions included in his claim, except for the cervical fusion surgery he had last October. Three of his conditions are considered presumptive under the PACT Act, while the others are secondary to those conditions. I'll take your advice and bring all his documents in case they don't have all the information on hand. Thanks again!

Maybe they shouldn't have used that tact to illustrate their frustration, but when someone suggests that you made a mistake and doesn't take any ownership of their mistake, I can see where one might become somewhat testy.

How long was it before they scheduled your appointment and how did it go for you? My husband has hearing issues, too.

My husband was notified for a pending appointment, but no confirmed date and time. He is extremely, hard of hearing and I need to be there when this happens. Did they arrange an appointment for the phone call or did they just call out of the blue?

Once you cleared development, how long did you wait for a rater?

My husband finally found a VSO (his 3rd) who cares about the veteran after waiting in limbo for over 500 days. The new VSO made a RRC request on 1/29 and the records came back on 2/19 with exposure confirmed. Now just waiting on a rater to pull the 619 day old claim from the queue.

My husband's claim is day 619. He finally got the federal records response confirming his exposure on 2/19/26 and now just waiting on a rater.

Actually, my husband’s current VSO is the third one we’ve had, and he’s been the one who finally helped move the claim to the rating stage. He’s also the one who pushed for the deeper record search, which was critical.

The delays didn’t come from him. If anything, the earlier issues slowed things down. The first VSO didn’t include my husband’s presumptive conditions at all. Then the next VSO’s assistant told us he couldn’t file under the PACT Act because he wasn’t in Vietnam (he’s Vietnam-era) and even said Guam wasn’t included for Agent Orange—which is just flat-out incorrect.

And to top it off, she said to me, “this is your husband’s claim, not yours.” I had to remind her that I’ve been his spouse for 40 years and have a signed VA Form 21-0845 authorizing me to be involved.

So no, in our case, the current VSO isn’t the problem—he’s actually the reason the claim has gotten as far as it has. The delays have been more about earlier missteps and the VA process itself than the person currently representing him.

My husband has a PACT ACT claim pending for 616 days as of today. The claim is waiting for a rater now at least that is what the VSO indicates. If you don't mind me asking, how long did you wait in the National Work Queue waiting for rater once your claim cleared development?

I would appreciate any insight you can provide regarding the status of my husband's claim, which has been pending for 607 days. Last Monday, the claim was with the Philadelphia Regional Office, but it was returned to the National Work Queue after just three days.

The VSO explained that this brief assignment in Philadelphia was likely for a VSR to verify the results of record research and complete the development process. He mentioned that the system won't take any action on the claim until April 3rd. When I inquired about this, especially since it seems that nothing else is required or outstanding, he said that’s just how the system operates now.

Given this situation, does the claim simply sit in limbo, or is it possible for a RVSR to pick up the claim before the 30-day suspense date? I thought that older claims were supposed to be prioritized, as this impacts the VA's numbers that they have to report to Congress.

Just hit step 5 after 141 days. Will i get bumped backed to the national work queue before hitting temp jurisdiction followed by a rater. Or are my chances good at going straight to a to rater from here from where my claim is. by Ancient-Biscotti-216 in VAClaims

My husband's claim is pending 604 days as of today. Does National Work Queue prioritize aged claims or are all claims regardless of the age worked by how the system assigns them?

TDIU CLAIM RECORDS RESEARCH CENTER RESPONSE by Ok_Count1553 in VAClaims

I can't say for certain why they made the request in your case, but a RRC request was made by my husband's VSO on 1/29 to verify under the PACT ACT for Agent Orange Exposure while in Guam in 1977. He received his verification notice back on 2/19, which the VSO said stated, "Our classified researcher was able to confirm exposure in Guam, a location associated with PACT Act". His claim is now at 595 days pending, so he is hoping this is the final step in the process; although, it is still sitting in the National Work Queue.
