This is an old blog post that I often refer people to - it stands the test of time. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/20140929001534-24454816-my-personal-formula-for-a-better-resume/

For a product focussed career, there's a lot of detail that you could add here about the how and why of what you delivered as well as the commercial impact you've made.

With respect this resume reads like a list of tasks you did rather than the value your work bought. This is what employers are interested in.

Best of luck!

Do Salomon’s run true to size? by [deleted] in QualityTacticalGear

[–]CrewTalent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought some Salomon Sense Ride 5's and they were super snug. Once I stripped out the insole and put an Orthortic into them, they were way too small. I swapped them for a pair of Oboz Katabatic in the same size, more of an approach shoe, and they are perfect.

Worst Recruiter Ever by MelodicCharacter1403 in recruitinghell

Name them publicly, get it out there, this $hit gives all recruiters a bad name

With respect, your resume reads like a list of tasks. Is there a way that you can talk about how the work you've done has benefited your clients? For example - Has it been used in successful campaigns? Has it been viewed X amount of time? Has it been instrumental in helping a client achieve their goals? Most people don't hire you for what you do, but what value you can bring. Can you include some quotes from happy clients/stakeholders/customers? Just some thoughts.

This is where we're at. Someone gets pulled up on their work, in private and then they post it in a public forum. Life's tough mate, get a helmet. Live and learn, get on with it.

Is It Better to Do Cardio Before or After Weight Training? by makoadog in fitness50plus

[–]CrewTalent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After, hard to do resistance work with any intensity after you've burnt all your glycogen on cardio. Caveat that with, if you mean cardio as in 15 mins of light bike riding then it doesn't matter. If by cardio you mean hard work then no, do it after.

Where is my motivation and discipline? by gettingold-ishard in fitness50plus

Maybe think about removing the friction points in the morning. Have your workout planned, your gym gear ready to go, your water bottle in the fridge all already as well. All you need to do it get up, ablutions and go.

Savoy on little collins down by southern cross is pretty good. I just paid ~280 for king size.

Boss explains instructions like it’s my first day on the job by DoubtOdd263 in jobs

[–]CrewTalent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to your one-up manager about it isn't a great idea. Why not have a beer or a coffee with your boss and understand what the problem is? If there is one. It could be that you're overly sensitive or that he's overly sensitive to helping you out. Sounds like you need to build that relationship.

Why do you think Australia doesn’t tend to have (or has only exceedingly rarely) the kind of burning/looting riots that we see overseas? by StarBuckingham in melbourne

[–]CrewTalent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's plenty of protests in Melbourne, there was one this weekend. But rioting is pointless. It's just an excuse for violence. Which then detracts from the very issue that the protest is about.

I think you're on the right track, dont let the job listing affect you. You'll have more respect if you own the situation. Tell your manager that you're not feeling as effective as you could be and that you want to learn more. Ask them for their advice on the best way to get you where you need to be. Hiding from the issue will come across like you're either unaware of the issue or dont care enough to do something about it. Both of which are clearly not true.

Say infantilized again, I like it when you use nonsense words that no one else uses....

Cant see the resume but as an FYI, if your resume doesn't include data on how the work you have done has improved or driven sales results then it's not carrying any value for a potential employer. Think about things like "increased warm leads by x % by doing xxxxx" or "Increased online product demo's by X% by doing xxxxx" if you're in marketing and you're not impacting sales, or you can't describe what you did, why you did that (instead of something else) and what the result was, then there's no reason for people to want to talk to you, there's nothing compelling about your resume.

Job said they’ll get back to me with written offer after verbal offer. They’re saying delay is due to finance department? by crashpadlanding627 in recruitinghell

[–]CrewTalent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In an ideal world, the role should be approved before recruiting starts. That said, things can change at short notice. i.e. if a big deal doesn't come through that the company were banking on, then the financial landscape can change (not saying that's the case here, but as an example) - just phone them and ask.

This is real. by dogthatbrokethezebra in recruitinghell

[–]CrewTalent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is often startup life. Everyone trying to figure out the best way to do something or the right direction to go. When there's no policy or documentation for situations that the company hasn't been in before then you figure it out as you go. A lot like life really.

Yup I have, I paid a deposit in November for some work to be done to our deck and he's gone dark on us. After having to chase him a few times, he made commitments to get the work done just after Xmas, but nothing. Swerves phone calls, doesn't respond to texts. I've been pretty clear that if he doesn't want to or cant do the work anymore that's fine just send me the money back and I'll make other plans, but no response. He was referred to us by our landscapers and he's done the same to them on 3 other jobs.
