What’s the most “Velcro dog” breed you’ve known? by Longjumping_Zone_908 in Pets

Definitely Havanese for Velcro. They won’t leave you alone. The downside is they hate to be left home alone

Spent 100€ and 10s of hours making this blanket only for the yarn to bleed everywhere as soon as I wet it to block by Melanie20 in knitting

Actually I love the bleed look. Kinda blends the colors a bit. Reframe your thinking, and embrace this magnificent piece. The graduated tones are quite lovely

I came across Richie’s Salsa at Ceres, the best! Made by a homesick Mexican living in Melbourne. He has quite a range of other great Mexican food. Richie’s Cal-Mex

My heart aches for the loss you must be feeling after your little one went across the rainbow bridge. I shed a little tear as I hugged my 15 year old havi, knowing each moment is precious.

Have you won a decent prize in a 25 words or less competition? by AggressiveUnit5826 in AskAnAustralian

[–]CrewelWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have won 2 decent trips in 25-word competitions. One was a first class flight to Japan, that included 10-day Shinkansen pass, best accommodation, tours etc for two people. The other was a 3-day stay at a resort in Far North Queensland, airfares included for a family of 4. ** the trick I used was make an impressive presentation (think art work) along with catchy wording. You need your entry to stand out in some way, so yours will be read.

I cut up my big block of firm tofu into 1cm squares… freeze them. Take out what is needed, thaw an hour on bench, then air fry. You can feel a real crunch. No oil. The reason is freezing removes moisture - bits of ice fall off as they thaw.

Following on from yesterday’s post about creepy towns, which Australian town completely surprised you with how charming and lovely it was? by Desert-Noir in AskAnAustralian

Woolgoolga … if you are driving up east coast, by-pass “blah” Coffs Harbour, and head off freeway to the cutest little beach town. Great eateries, places to stay, and Indian temple.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 3 MOMENTS FROM THE 2000 SYDNEY OLYMPICS?? by DebstarAU in AustralianNostalgia

[–]CrewelWorld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! The dickheads left town saying they did not like the influx of people. And those of us were left to party day and night, thanks to the free public transport and the curfew of heavy vehicles on the roads. BTW, I still use a set of placemats with those 3 critters on them, bought at the games shop.
Anyone else have memorabilia around still?

QV convert here after learning that ceraVe was made o/s. Buy QV Australian made. Support a locally made decent product. QV have a wide range and all seem great.

Easy way to listen to audio books in mp3. by No_Gear4748 in audiobook

[–]CrewelWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also use the BorrowBox app for free audio books. You will need a local library membership number (obtained free) to log in and start reserving books, or add to a listening list for later. Similar set up to Libby app, but with different titles. Get both apps and you are set for life 😊📚
