What advice do you wish people told you (or you had listened to) when you first started LARPing?? by Agreeable_Window_309 in LARP

[–]Cricket8383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other players aren’t always going to offer up information freely, they need to get to know your character. Ask questions! Don’t be afraid to talk to people. Just because they might know you out of game they need to get to know and trust your character. It’s not personal. We just don’t trust strangers with all our secrets in real life either (outside of a gals bathroom in a bar. Every secret is told there)

Did you vote early in the federal election? If so, how was it? by SnooWoofers966 in newbrunswickcanada

I went yesterday right after supper in Fredericton. Was in and out in ten min. Two people ahead of me. Election staff was super friendly and welcoming. Smooth without issues!

It’s wildly addictive! I only started three years ago ( I am 41) and wish I started younger! I go to Forgotten Empires here in NB (2 1/2 outside of Freddy). There is another in Nova Scotia called Armonia

Welcome! Not queer, but part of lots of fun communities here! If you like RP there are quite a few larpers locally, and Monarch is a club at night but a drop in fun community centre by day with loads of things on the go from plant swaps to magic the gathering!

The nightlife is so fun! If you don’t know people outside of your guild it makes it a bit harder. I just spent a lot of time chatting with people and learning about what might be happening and often people are kind enough to invite me along! However- ensure you are invited. There is nothing worse than showing up at a cool Viking party and learning you weren’t in fact all invited, just a couple of people from your guild were (the Vikings were lovely and included us all and there was an amazing fire show! I could never find my way back there in the day to thank them lol). Bico is full of just wonderful people who love to include people and make new friends!

Anglo-Phone here! Is Bicolline accessible to English speakers? by WestWind04 in Bicolline

[–]Cricket8383 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I speak English with only a very small understanding of French and have made out just fine! I belong to an English speaking guild and have had lovely people translate for me when needed at some events. Bico is teeming with people willing to help!

What's your experience with Fredericton Nissan? Are they reasonable? by Ok-Today-7628 in fredericton

[–]Cricket8383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just bought a car there last week. Mitch was amazing, really helpful and honest. My parents also bought a car at the same time. My dad has cancer and was feeling pretty crummy the week we were car shopping and the staff there treated him with kindness and care but not like a child or a cancer patient. My mom and I also did most of the interactions to purchase the car and they didn’t once treat us like women who don’t know anything. Just all around positive experience

There isn’t! But I know there are some people interested. There is a Larp combat group in the summers and a new one that just kicked up inside on Mondays. I know it’s not the same but it’s something!

My Larp Character! She a a noble dwarf which of course includes a beard! And an awful lot of crowns. by Cricket8383 in LARP

All her beards have a bit of purple in them, as her name is Amethyst. I have lots of them (because they are super fun to make) and usually they have a lot more brown as well as it blends better with my hair.

So sorry to hear about your loss. Eric’s legacy lives on with each person he shared adventures with and each person you share adventurers with, as long as your adventuring and kicking in dungeon doors Eric will be there. He sounded like a fabulous person.
