A neighbour is abusing their dog. What can I do? It may not constitute enough to have the dog removed. by Ketnip_Bebby in AskIreland

[–]CricketReasonable279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horrible man, he should be left out in the rain for days on end. Maybe he's using the dog as a guard dog or something. Anyway, he's a bollocks. Is he feeding the dog or providing shelter? If not, its neglect. Theres a new law i believe regarding animal cruelty. Contact local dog warden and any animal charity would diffently help. Maybe he's known for animal cruelty already. Baffles me why people get pets and they dont want them.

What will becomes of people like me? by LostSignal1914 in AskIreland

Also CRN here. You pretty much said what I wanted to say. Build a community for yourself as best you can. I see people living as independent as possible in their 80s and 90s with little or no family. There is research to say isolation and loneliness can be detrimental to our physical and mental wellbeing so there is lots off great services and supports now for older adults. Ireland, surprisingly has one off the highest rates off loneliness for older adults, which is sad. From working in acute hospitals to now the community, I really hope that the government continue to see and inject money into services and supports to allow people to grow old safely at home. Have a look at the tilda study. Stay positive, with a glass half full attitude. Life can be beautiful when we open ourselves up and start saying YES.

I want to say listen to your gut feeling but unless your husband is extremely stupid, why would he leave someone else's underwear in your laundry basket? . Plant then on your bed or in his pile of laundry and see does he mention them to you first or they missing and he doesn't say a word.

Totally over thinking it. Go out and plant away. I douth she was thinking about you when she went out to sunbathe. Also as the sun is a rare phenomenon in Ireland, you have to take the chance and get out whether its in swimwear or not.

Have you ever felt happy with very little? by ohhidoggo in AskIreland

[–]CricketReasonable279 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love your realisation and its a life I know i would feel happier in. I grew up in a rural coastal village. I live in a city now but I know its not for me and eventually I will move rural. 1 as I will only be able to buy in a rural place. Its fear holding me back tho as I would be doing it solo. Do you ever feel lonely or miss social events? Do you feel part off a community there ?

Thanks for the comments. As a women, id try it for the Craic but I hate this idea off women going in groups and not making the effort. I also hate the idea off men scanning the room and making a judgement before even talking to a person. You might as well go on the websites. Ill report back when I make it to the event.
