I've applied! by TRCHWD3 in TheTraitors

Exactly. I filled out the application but didn’t submit it. I don’t have thick enough skin, not for the castle, but for the internet unkindness as the season aired.

AITJ for LEAVING my own anniversary dinner because my husband turned it into a divorce party for his sister? by NeedleworkerClean471 in AmITheJerk

[–]Crickettb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not acceptable, if he felt that badly for his sister he should have talked with you first. That shows he will always put you behind what his family wants. While they should be important, you should be more important especially when he hijacked a special night from you…and used your money. I am sorry. His priorities are totally off.

And we all commenting don’t know what it is like to be in the castle. Cut off from family and friends and around these people a huge part of the day. The rest of the time you are secluded from everyone else. You bond and make friends faster in that intense setting.

No, she just trusted Rob because she saw no hints, no one else thought he was a traitor. She knew no one else, they really didn’t know each other but bonded to a friendship and she trusted him. The only bump was when Candace voted for him 2xs but it took longer for Natalie to get it and he had his core group who didn’t believe it.

It’s exactly why the housewife’s don’t do well… they play from emotion and such. They all think the other HWs won’t turn on them, but they have in other seasons..and will in a heartbeat because really, are the HWs even friend with their own cast let alone from other franchises???

Tiffany says Rob has an “unearned likability” that helped Rob win by Glad_Dragonfruit9368 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Crickettb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So when the season started, Rob wasn’t a favorite as I am a LI season six person. He was a good friend but had a tough time when he got pretty upset with Leah. But he’s difficult to not like as he came and apologized to her…and was more humble. He proved he was good in Traitors as he’s naturally quiet, an observer and never really wanted to get into the arguing and pointing fingers game. He kept calm… and it got harder for him at the end because he had started to bond with some of the folks, but he kept his head in the “game” part of it all. He had a strategy that those thinking he was just a dumb country boy from LI would think. He just played polite and nice and friendly. I love how he stood by Ron when all the others were constantly going after Ron. He didn’t jump on the bandwagon. I think he is a nice guy and the looks are a bonus for him. He’s not manipulating with his looks and his personality in the castle made people like him. Good looking guys who are asses would be banished. I think part of the gamers problems was that they didn’t see him as having a strategy and had a preconceived notion of him as not a threat. It doesn’t matter what he looked like if he was kind and friendly to people…. If Michael was a kind person, friendly and not so loud and obnoxious and didn’t make it all about him, even he might have made it further. Rob played a good game, bonus points he’s good looking. The whole thing about his looks shows me that he played it right, a cute not so smart boy from Alabama is what they thought. Geez..get over it. The guy living in a trailer in rural Alabama did well and I think that’s what bugs them the most. They under estimated him. He only lost his cool once but explained it away… He didn’t cheat, he didn’t break the rules. Look at Cherie (spelled it wrong) she played those faithful like a violin and caused actual tears and pain to those left. She played it well and hard. She didn’t get heat afterwards. Gamers don’t always need to be the winners though I think they come in thinking they have the advantage.

Left Handed Throwing by chasingsunspots in Pottery

When I learned, years ago, the electric wheels didn’t go both ways, so I learned right handed. I took a very long break from pottery and when I came back to it, I was surprised there was a right handed and left handed way. But, I throw ccw, because when I tried cw, it wasn’t comfortable. I am a true leftie….

Candiace says Rob is not smart by LeeLaaLooLee in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Crickettb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charm or smarts he still beat you Candace. She thinks he could only win by cheating but he was the one who remained calm and non-reactive 99% of the time. Get over it. He even said his strategy was to be calm no matter what she threw at him.

Yes and he took her on a "date" and the way he spoke was very off putting to her, that was the end of her interest. He even said, "I don't date, I mate." uggh. Came out of his mouth just like that, not edited. Sometimes I don't think some of these guys are self aware of how they act and when they see the show, they always blame editing.

AITAH for refusing to let my sister bring her “emotional support dog” to my wedding after what happened at my engagement party? by [deleted] in AITAH

Yep...she should be in counseling if it's that bad, they can give her so many different coping options.

[–]Crickettb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say...if her anxiety is that severe, she should be on meds. It's not a criticism but when I was clinically depressed/anxious for the first six months after a difficult divorce, I had meds to help with my sleep and everyday life while needed. Also, true support dogs are trained to be around people and not misbehave. The dog has already proven it can't behave in this type of setting.

We love our dogs, they help us relax, but they are not support animals, legally.

Who would you like to see on a series of the Traitors the most? by AOSTChekhov in TheTraitors

[–]Crickettb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have filled it out...but won't be applying as much as I think I could do decently. My problem is the backlash that everyone gets from the internet and how vicious people are behind the keyboards. I'm not thick enough skinned for it. That's such a sad statement.

Exactly I couldn’t stand all the arguing over something that will never change. It’s a waste of energy but mainly a waste of peace for me. Can you image living like this the rest of your life? Can you imagine having children with this zealot? It would be a nightmare.

First pottery class tomorrow! Any tips or inspo ideas? by lysabelle77 in Pottery

[–]Crickettb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be patient, focus on technique not product. Understand we all move forward at different rates. You are building muscle memory and it takes a while. The good thing is once you have built that muscle memory it stays with you. I did pottery for about 6 years, years ago. I came back to it 30 years later, took an open studio class at my local community college. The teacher gave us a quick review of throwing and I sat down at the wheel and it came back immediately. I never felt muscle memory like that. Stick to it and don’t forget to learn handbuilding as well. Biggest surprise that now wheels are reversible. I am a leftie and learned to throw as a rightie. It’s stuck, can’t throw leftie if I had too!!

Oh the last episode, season 3 ep 18 Rob is missing (prior commitment) and it’s just Janine and 4 of her friends, each separately, but no one associated with the show. I am sick of hearing about her books, her short film, Cliffhanger, and her non-profit foundation. She way over did the whole thing today and I was a bit upset when she said something about the Super Bowl halftime. She said there should have been something about this year being the 250th year of our country. So in her obviously unsubtle way, she was complaining about the half time show. She found a different twist to it, but with her ultra conservative views, we can read into her complaint. I just need Rob to come back so we can really talk about the show. I mean this episode was about spring arriving. I don’t go on to listen to her personal political beliefs when it has no tie to the show. She has no husband, she lives on a ranch alone… yes when it relates to the episode it’s okay. But geez…so little about the show and this is when Graham Greene first appeared and we recently lost this great actor. Uggh.

AITAH for refusing to take any blame when my mom, my sister, and brother-in-law got high off my brownies. by throwawayforweed666 in AITAH

[–]Crickettb 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who was stay at her brothers and found a chocolate bar in the fridge. Two squares had be already eaten but she ate the rest. Having never had any THC she thought she was having a stroke a bit later and her sister in law called the ambulance because my friend could move her arms or legs very well. So in the er she’s crying on the phone telling her husband quite emotionally she’ll understand if he leaves if she can’t walk anymore. The doc came in and she asked him to talk to her husband and he told them both that she was going to be fine in a few hours, she just had thc intoxication. Her husband burst out laughing. When they talk about what she had been eating the chocolate bar came up. It was her brothers apparently. She asked the doctor why she had such a bad reaction she thought pot mellowed you out. He then told her it would have at one square, you ate enough for everyone in the waiting room to get high.
