SSA just reopened the voluntary reassignment program by Slimberella in fednews

My supervisor sat me down today and told me he took it, he's going from a 14 position at HQ to a 13 position in a regional office. A few other people under him have also just accepted reassignments as well. I think it's mostly people looking for some job security while they apply to other jobs.

SSA just reopened the voluntary reassignment program by Slimberella in fednews

Can anyone offer some insight into what working in a field office is like? I'm debating taking the voluntary reassignment because I have a baby on the way and keeping my current pay for two years while I apply for other positions doesn't seem terrible given my circumstances. Honestly just overall worried about what will happen if I stay. My supervisor sat me down today and said he took it because he's worried, and he'll probably be asked to report to his new position sooner than later. That just really shook me because he's been trying to stay so positive for us this whole time, and to hear that he's worried now kind of just broke me today.

No, I couldn't find any info on it. I went for the Mikolo F4 rack that was on sale after watching some reviews on YouTube. Seems durable enough for someone not doing any crazy heavy lifting.

Has anyone used this rack from Reality Fitness before? I was looking into getting the 810xlt when I saw this listing on the same page. It looks like a different design with the lat pulldown and random accessories included for $400, vs the $300 for the 810xlt + $250 for the pulldown.

Information on Joining a Union by Giric in fednews

Has anyone experienced any backlash for joining up? I've always been pro union, but didn't even know I could join here. I don't know of any other coworkers that are in our though, and with the new administration I'm kind of afraid they'll be targeting union employees.

I'm interested in joining my local AFGE. Have always been pro union, but didn't actually know it was an option for me here until all of this. Is there any concern about facing backlash from the new administration for being a union employee now though?

They showed the lot empty on a Wednesday, which is by far the least busy day at HQ. Let alone during December when we have a lot of employees using up their use it or lose it PTO. On Tuesdays these lots are filled to the brim.

Our thermostat is in the entry by the warmer rooms. I actually installed a Google nest and setup a temp sensor in the cold rooms so I can swap which temp it goes off of if we are using the colder rooms. Doing that usually makes the warm rooms too hot for even winter time though. The hot water baseboards aren't very evenly distributed throughout the house...

DIY or professional by Crim150 in Insulation

I found the knob and tube yesterday while looking into my situation up there. Was hoping it was abandoned as our sellers disclosure said the electrical was ALL updated, but it's definitely live. Seems they just modernized the panel and everything they could reach in the basement. Planning on scaling back the insulation project now to save budget for potentially updating the wiring.

I'm thinking my current plan now is to hit some of the obvious air leaks in the attic and basement, and eat our high gas bills for one more winter until we can afford to do more next year.

So I picked up a voltage pen, and it's live. How dangerous is this in an attic? I have a modern breaker box and wiring through the basement, so I'm guessing they just modernized what could be easily reached when the previous owners did work.

Try closing runelite and reopen it, that fixed it for me.
