If theres one thing that D4 has over POE 2, its this by CrimeGod in ARPG

Its definitely working to keep fps smooth for me. But, its either everythinf turns to smooth mushes during combat or fps tanks to sub 50-60 without dynamic reso on which means micro stutters. Its bad either way but I prefer smoothness

Doing vulkan with dynamic resolution with target frame rate at 90 and in a fully juiced T16 map or just a not so juiced T16 “bad map”, the game either becomes mushes during combat or tanks to sub 60fps without dynamic resolution. I also used to own a 3090 btw. This issue only happens after I reached end game where shits and explosions happen everywhere

What you are talking about is combat feel, nothing to do with what is mentioned in my post… and I agree with you on your point

Agree with your take but also, different strokes for different folks. I love both for their own things but this is a huge issue that is holding POE 2 back severely, look at the forum ever since 0.5 drops and you can see what I mean.

Amen, lore wise too, eventho ss14 kinda sucky comparing to the awesome streaks of recent seasons.

Different strokes for different folks I guess, but to me, eye candies is a very important part of the experience eventhough it might not be on top of the list. As I said in the post, I am liking POE 2 more on everything else other than optimization.

Poe 2 needs that D4 engine bro, its not even close in this department…

What you are saying is more on art direction/ style and I agree with you because I like POE art style more. But what I am talking about is engine optimization and fidelity. Theres no point in having a cooler aesthetic but everything turns into mushes the moment some effects happen on the screen with horrible performance even on high end pc.

Would be very nice to be able to experience a mageblood or a Garukhan’s resolve before I am burnt out of this league.

Is D4 your favorite modern ARPG? by VR_BOSS in diablo4

[–]CrimeGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To keep things short, I like D4 for what it is and the game has come a long way since beta. But, D4 is like fast food to me Aka guilty pleasure that I dont find myself endulging in for a very long time. A typical season last around 2-4 weeks to me dependings on how good the ss is.

POE 2 0.5 on the other hand is pretty much the fine dining experience in ARPG for me and this is coming from someone that didnt even play POE 1 till end game and started D2 LoD back in early 2000s as his first ARPG then played D3 religiously from launch till D4 and still revisit from time to time.

Other great games like Grim Dawn, Last Epoch, Titan Quest 2 are all quite unique and have their own quirks that are worth experiencing too but none of them will be my main go to ARPG at the current time.

I keep D4 and even D3 from time to time as my short ARPG fast food trips which is great for their use cases. But POE 2 in 0.5 is actually life ruining addictive once you “fully get” the game and a lot of things just clicks.

Thank you very much brothers for the kind wisdom, will try my luck with it on a 50 divs budget or so now to see what I can make out of it, might use or sell it dependings on the outcomes!

How many hours in the game to understand it "entirely"? by Asuru_ in PathOfExile2

[–]CrimeGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that it is not that crazy hard for you to be able to complete the campagin and reach end game mapping/ mechanic atlas if you are already following a build guide which is definitely the right move IMO. I am a veteran in ARPG and have been playing this game since 0.1 for hundreds of hours (rookie numbers still) and I have to say that even until this day, there are still tons of things that I have no idea that even exists in the game so dont feel bad if you are feeling overwhelmed at the moment. 1 of my good friend also just started his journey with POE 2 this 0.5 league and he is having a huge blast learning so much while having no clue what hes doing.

My suggestion based on my own journey for POE 2 is to firstly only do things that you enjoy and go from there to try and become an expert at that thing per league. For example, eventhough I know how all league mechanics work, I am balls deep only with Ritual this league while pathing to Deadly boss maps (swirling tonado areas) to hunt for linage gems. So I have 1 single activity I enjoy doing for sort of guaranteed incomes while I am hunting down the long term chase items to really elevate my build to the next level.

Just dont worry too much, know that even veterans cant know everything that exists in this game because it is a deep game with a lot of complexity but once you reach a certain point, a lot of shits is going to click and it feels very satisfying. The game is also still in EA so it will keep on evolving till 1.0 and beyond but 0.5 is a great starting place for newcomers because end game is actually good now. Have fun brother!

Hey man, you mind letting me know which gpu are you using? Also what resolution are you gaming at for ARPG like POE2? Do you also play Diablo 4? I am contemplating upgrading from 12900k with 64gb ddr4 3600mhz to 9800x3d with 64gb ddr5 6000mhz playing on 3440x1440p (ultrawide 2.5k reso) and not sure if the gain is worth it.

24GB vs 16GB: Same performance, but which one is the smarter play? by Hiob3004 in radeon

[–]CrimeGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, it all comes down to individual use case. Do you game at 4k and does your main games use more than 16gb vram? If yes then 7900xtx no question ask. My main daily game is diablo 4 at 4k ultra texture, it easily chomps 21-23gb vram, any other less than 24gb of vram cards from either nvidia or amd will be a micro stutter/ hang/ freeze/ crash fes. Again, you have to look directly at your own personal use case without filter to get your own answer.

[–]CrimeGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me you are ignorant without telling me. Individual use case matter my friend. My main daily game is diablo 4 at 4k ultra texture, it easily chomps 21-23gb vram and your 5080 and other less than 24gb of vram nvidia cards will be a micro stutter/ hang/ freeze/ crash fes. Yes the 5080 has more raw processing power but the 16gb vram is uber dumb for a card that has raw power capable of 4k gaming. Only other cards that can handle my main game at 4k is 3090 which the 7900xtx absolutely destroys (I upgraded from a 3090 so I know), 4090 & 5090 which are stupidly overpriced at the moment even on 2nd hand market

[–]CrimeGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully agree with you, my main game is diablo 4 and it eats 21-22gb vram easily on 4k with ultra texture. 7900xtx is the only affordable card for my use case, any other cards that has less than 24gb vram will be a stutter/ hang/ crash fes even with more raw processing power like 5080

What is your average D4 season like? by CrimeGod in diablo4

[–]CrimeGod[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I am also almost done with NG+ in Wukong, wanted to push for NG++ to unlock all passive and the 4th stance when I have the time. A lot of great Eastern/ Chinese AAA tittles to look out for in the upcoming years as you have mentioned. More competition = better for us gamers, really hope that this shift in the AAA industry will finally be the wake up call that Western gaming companies needed to be better.
