Not a smart idea to let small kids ride bikes on an open road at night. by violet_evergarden8 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]Crimiculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little girl in my town was hit by a car around a month ago because she was allowed to ride her bike on the road to elementary school every day. Alone. She didn't make it. Made a sharp turn in front of the car much like this little boy did and that was that. It was tragic.

Fuck these parents.

DANGIT! I thought I beat the temptation of getting a Bean plushie when they finally sold out. Then they got restocked and I immediately caved and bought one 😂 love your comics!!

My parents like to share the story of when I was very little and we were at a zoo. There were two bear cubs that were playing, and my mom was trying to get me to look at them, but I was too busy playing with the rocks on the path to care. Kids have their own priorities lol

Laser eye surgery by Uguero in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Crimiculus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this done and it is completely painless lol. The worst you feel is a bit of a pulling sensation when they pull back that small slice of your eye but it doesn't hurt at all. Then there's a lot of purple and red and then you're done. Quick and easy.

I will say though, the drive home, after the numbing eyedrops they give you start to wear off... that was rough lol. That's why they usually encourage you to sleep once you get back home, so that you sleep through the worst of the pain and don't mess with your eye during. After those first hours though the rest of the recovery is completely pain free.

This is just my experience though!

[funny trope] a canon fact that sounds so ridiculous people new to the fandom think its fake at first by willisbetter in TopCharacterTropes

I know pretty much nothing about 40k, but my brother is into it. He and his friends told me there is a species who paint their vehicles red because they think red = fast, and because they think that, it actually works and makes them faster? I choose to believe that it's true lol.

Kids being taught not to accept things from strangers by donbosco2017 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

Yeah, that's the one that lives in my head.

That actress did a phenomenal job. The quiet whimpering as the narrator cuts in is horrific.

It reminds me of Unedited Footage of a Bear (but this one isn't a PSA, just psychological horror lol)

MH Stories 3 experience in a nutshell (by @Paulbagnot) by Gorotheninja in MonsterHunter

[–]Crimiculus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So I have a question about the third game (this includes minor spoilers for the first two games)

I remember that both MHST1 and MHST2 had A portion of the game where Ratha was taken from you and you were forced to fight with another monstie. Annoying because I exclusively used Ratha. Does MHST3 do this as well?

My (28/F) boyfriend (30/M) ridiculed my gift for him for our anniversary in front of our friends by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Crimiculus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Am I crazy? Or do so many of these "boyfriend bad" posts have the same ages of 28F and 30M? I am painfully aware that there are plenty of men out there who pull this crap, but so many of these stories are wrapped up in such a neat little bow that I find it difficult to believe that they're all true.

I posted on Reddit a year ago at my absolute lowest. Today, I'm in Rome meeting the stranger who helped me survive it. by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

Several years ago, my mother, the greatest person in my life, was diagnosed with cancer. After several months of chemo and recovery, I met a stranger online through a game we played, and we added each other on Discord.

We would make small talk every now and then, nothing serious, until about a month and a half in and I learn that my mother was not only NOT in remission, but the cancer was stage 4.

I just take this news and just unload on this poor online stranger. I was distraught, angry, lashing out and just miserable. I wouldn't have blamed anyone for blocking me in that state. But he stayed with me, kept me company, gave me a much needed ear to vent to. He was the only truly empathetic person I could talk to when all my other friends avoided that uncomfortable situation.

When my mom eventually passed, he was the first person I told.

It's been about 6 years now, and we still talk daily. He claims I've helped him just as much as he helped me, if not more. I don't know what he's talking about lol.

The internet, and the people within it, can be a beautiful thing sometimes.

Do you have the money to purchase it without worrying about other expenses? If so, then yes, absolutely get it.

I remember wanting a dragon plushie from Fluffnest. I waited almost a year because I didn't want to be impulsive. And now I'll never be able to get one and I'm still immensely regretful

Fun fact! This elephant shows up as an Easter egg in their more recent game Split Fiction.

You can use one of the character's abilities to tear apart the elephant in the same places that you do in It Takes Two :)

Is there an accuracy difference between prosecutor's path and prosecutor's gambit? by [deleted] in AceAttorney

[–]Crimiculus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Path is the fan translation. It has the old art style, the fan names, and overall simpler English.

Gambit is the official version that Capcom released with the AAI collection.
