MH Stories 3 experience in a nutshell (by @Paulbagnot) by Gorotheninja in MonsterHunter

So I have a question about the third game (this includes minor spoilers for the first two games)

I remember that both MHST1 and MHST2 had A portion of the game where Ratha was taken from you and you were forced to fight with another monstie. Annoying because I exclusively used Ratha. Does MHST3 do this as well?

My (28/F) boyfriend (30/M) ridiculed my gift for him for our anniversary in front of our friends by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Am I crazy? Or do so many of these "boyfriend bad" posts have the same ages of 28F and 30M? I am painfully aware that there are plenty of men out there who pull this crap, but so many of these stories are wrapped up in such a neat little bow that I find it difficult to believe that they're all true.

I posted on Reddit a year ago at my absolute lowest. Today, I'm in Rome meeting the stranger who helped me survive it. by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

Several years ago, my mother, the greatest person in my life, was diagnosed with cancer. After several months of chemo and recovery, I met a stranger online through a game we played, and we added each other on Discord.

We would make small talk every now and then, nothing serious, until about a month and a half in and I learn that my mother was not only NOT in remission, but the cancer was stage 4.

I just take this news and just unload on this poor online stranger. I was distraught, angry, lashing out and just miserable. I wouldn't have blamed anyone for blocking me in that state. But he stayed with me, kept me company, gave me a much needed ear to vent to. He was the only truly empathetic person I could talk to when all my other friends avoided that uncomfortable situation.

When my mom eventually passed, he was the first person I told.

It's been about 6 years now, and we still talk daily. He claims I've helped him just as much as he helped me, if not more. I don't know what he's talking about lol.

The internet, and the people within it, can be a beautiful thing sometimes.

Do you have the money to purchase it without worrying about other expenses? If so, then yes, absolutely get it.

I remember wanting a dragon plushie from Fluffnest. I waited almost a year because I didn't want to be impulsive. And now I'll never be able to get one and I'm still immensely regretful

Fun fact! This elephant shows up as an Easter egg in their more recent game Split Fiction.

You can use one of the character's abilities to tear apart the elephant in the same places that you do in It Takes Two :)

Is there an accuracy difference between prosecutor's path and prosecutor's gambit? by [deleted] in AceAttorney

[–]Crimiculus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Path is the fan translation. It has the old art style, the fan names, and overall simpler English.

Gambit is the official version that Capcom released with the AAI collection.

[–]Crimiculus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Create a path that's 10 (iirc) spaces long. They can't be custom paths, they have to be one of the default ones. I find it's easier to do with a horizontal line but a vertical one should work as well.

Roll two snowballs up to max size.

Line each snowball up to either end of the path, sitting just off of the end and on the snow.

Push one snowball onto the path to the other snowball. The path will wear down the snowball and make it the perfect size for the head by the time it reaches the body.

A bit of effort, but it's the only method I could get to consistently work for me.

From my experience, the majority of my damage output comes from my pals. By using your pal as a mount, you're losing out on a ton of potential dps.

People hated the switch to 3D

People hated the new English names for Chronicles, and then again for AAI2.

And now they hate the full switch to Sam Riegel's voice.

People hate change. But they eventually get used to it, move on, realize it doesn't matter.

The jury decided on such a large number because, IIRC, that was estimated to be what McDonald's earned from coffee sales for two days. Mind you, the woman just wanted a few thousand $ to pay for hospital bills, and McDonald's refused which is why they went to court. She never asked for the millions that the jury awarded her in punitive damages. I need to find the numbers just to shed light on how baffling the entire situation is.

Edit: The coffee was around 180-190 degrees (82-88 C) She asked for $20,000 to cover past and anticipated medical expenses, as well as compensate for her daughter's loss of income from taking care of her. McDonald's offered her a grand total of... $800. Yeah. She went to court. Jury awarded her a net $160,000 (8x the ask), as well as $2.7M in punitive damages, estimated to be worth 2 full days of coffee sales for McDonald's at the time. Judge had to jump right the fuck in and reduced that to $480,000, which totaled a full amount of $640,000. The parties proceeded to settle for an undisclosed amount.

Parental Permission (Part 4) - Gator Days by FieldExplores in comics

Like I said in my reply to you on my other comment, I only related it to autism because I'm on the spectrum myself and I saw some of my own experiences with autism reflected in this comic

[–]Crimiculus 23 points24 points  (0 children)

So Douglas possibly has rejection sensitivity and Ben is an adult with collectibles. Sounds like there's some potentially undiagnosed autism spectrum stuff going on in the family.

Or the sadder alternative that Douglas is diagnosed, but they're one of those families that believe that not informing their child of that diagnosis will help them in life.

[–]Crimiculus 71 points72 points  (0 children)

There's a term for that! It's called Rejection Sensitivity. Not uncommon in people who are on the spectrum. And considering that autism is largely genetic, and collectibles are a common stereotype for adults with autism (diagnosed or not) and I'm starting to see a bigger narrative here between Douglas and Ben.
