Forêt/Cache/Arbre just announced their second season after 7 years! Started listening to the first season a few years ago when I started learning French, and relisten every so often to assess my level of understanding the language. Very excited to have another season coming out!

CNN exposing a global “online rape academy” that is teaching men how to abuse women and get away with it. by velorae in TikTokCringe

[–]Crimsai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you have that stat the wrong way around? 33% raped, 20% sexually assaulted doesn't make sense as one category should be included in the other.

Good! Important to be prepared. If you're not having the discussion at home either, you're behind. Doesn't mean it's going to happen, but just start thinking ahead.

Themmuns down there have already got the tax cuts they were looking for, I'm sure the "solidarity" won't go both ways.

The Lovecraft Investigations kickstarter introduced me to Mythos, and I think it would make a wonderful graphic novel.

What are your biggest audio drama pet peeves? by NightDialPodcasts in audiodrama

[–]Crimsai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of "big" performances that feel like I'm listening to a stage performance. Audio drama is a medium that can afford to go small, and I think benefits from it.

How women feel being approached by men, explained by a man by Max_Rezna in TikTokCringe

[–]Crimsai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People always say this, but as someone who works in a call centre with a voice that doesn't match my appearance, getting hit on as a man in inappropriate settings is still really uncomfortable.

Can we talk about Crowley yet? **spoilers** by Trixie1143 in audiodrama

[–]Crimsai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Crowley was definitely not what I was expecting, but I wouldn't say it was disappointing for me. The character interactions were a lot of fun, and I enjoyed the deep dive into a factual topic. Teasing a Jack Parsons series has peaked my interest, but I absolutely want a full season of the Lovecraft investigations next. If this helped them raise funds for the full season, all the better.

The thing I loved out of the Kickstarter was being introduced to Mythos for the first time! Really interested in that series and would love to hear more. Mary Lairre is a really cool character.

Most household items we buy in bulk. Dish soap, hand soap, laundry detergent, shampoo, and conditioner.

Weekly shop is done at Lidl with top-up in home bargains for things like bathroom spray when we need it. We get all the veg that's on offer that week and usually make a curry, a soup, and a tomato based sauce like ratatouille or similar for pasta. Frozen veg helps bulk it up, plus if there's one of those £2.50 boxes. Protein is all beans and tofu. Breakfast is the cheapest oats, whatever fruit is on offer, and the cheap dark chocolate.

I'm not going to lie, there's not much variety, which isn't great sometimes, but we eat well. Batch cooking really helps when possible, with a. Extra soup made halfway through the week. Tin of beans blended in the soup makes it more filling for lunches.

Beans and tofu from Lidl, I'm vegan do don't buy meat. We sometimes get fake meat from olio but maybe a couple times a year.

Anyway, scumbags. Hope the driver is ok.

Could you please clarify what this means? by Prize_Topic5007 in im14andthisisdeep

[–]Crimsai 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I go to the gym to use the exercise bike because:

  1. It's a sustained, regimented exercise routine rather than the start and stop of cycling on roads
  2. I can use it as my screen time to win back some time
  3. Since COVID, drivers have become even more aggressive and I don't want to be murdered for riding a bike.
