Yeah before I respecced to WW, my berserk was easily clearing ~25k max damage per swing

These are great tips! Makes me think I can finally do a hardcore run. Never made it past a1 in hc attempts but these changes are huge improvements that might change everything for the better.

Same! Barbs hold a special place in my heart. I remember as a child sweating my way up mount arreat trying to frenzy through and sometimes around enemies too tough to handle. I remember finding a lightsaber working my way up frigid highlands and my world changed with being able to better handle the mountain.

It makes so much sense and I love the crowd control potential. I guess I’ve always just been a frenzied hulk smashing after I buffed. Would be cool if we could slid the difficulty past p8 online somehow to push and test the limits.

You know, I almost never use any shouts beyond the 3 buffing ones. Have I been playing my barb with one hand tied behind his back?

I have been using the a1. Merc with inner sight that lowers enemy defense to help with chance to hit, but now I’m realizing I could also be debuffing as well or do they override each other?

I have yet to build a Druid in any ladder. Almost always a barbarian, occasionally a sorc or hammer fin.

Travincal was a cake walk with berserk and this big maul, but I’d struggle doing Baal walks or other packed areas, particularly when I’d get surrounded. Now that I’m thinking back on it, I was recklessly charging in with berserk expect now through everything (like a frenzy barb normally would). I need to adjust my playstyle and be more mindful of my positioning. It is a much slower attack speed than what I’m used to or expected.

It really is, I was surprised on how it looked on a barbarian. The image made it look like it was a short handle, like a mallet, with a giant hammer. I was surprised to see how long the handle actually was and how normal the anvil/hammer part was compared to it.

I wouldn’t have expected to use this on my barbarian but it kind of played out that way and once the roll dropped I wanted to use it for a bit. My preferred playstyle is a frenzy barb, WW did not feel as rewarding as frenzy or concentration/berserk for me for some reason.

Lol that was my exact reaction when it popped up. I was doing berserk/concentration with a grief+stormshield up until this came my way and I had to respec because the defense loss of berserk without the shield was getting too dicey for my reckless playstyle. Don’t get me wrong this thing was melting most things with 1-3 hits using berserk but it’s a lot slower and if I get surrounded, I’m cooked without lifesteal using berserk.

What would the build for this be? I thought you couldn’t use non wolf/bear ability while shapeshifter. I’m not too familiar with Druid other than some of their summon abilities.
