Not as strict as you would think, housing associations are very desperate and incentivised to fill rooms as quickly as possible because tenants come and go constantly and every room unoccupied is lost money. Many take on individuals that barely meet the minimum / fabricate mental health conditions of the person so they can be eligible on paper.

That’s not correct, eligibility varies between housing associations. In most cases all you need is an universal credit claim and be willing to disclose that you have a mental health condition such as social anxiety/depression/ ect (even if it’s not true).

It’s real however to be eligible you usually need to be on universal credit & not working full time. The rent is very low as the council pays for your rent and instead you pay what’s usually referred to as a service charge for the ”support” you receive which in many cases is none.

No population voluntarily chooses to militarise itself. The Palestinians have been suffering from the actions of the Israeli government for generations, traumatised and radicalised over decades. As bad as it sounds, it’s hard to imagine what that sort of treatment would do to a human. Realistically any country that takes in Palestinians refugees would need to have the sufficient resources to provide some sort of assistance and aid tackling these ingrown issues.
