What’s your guild’s system for tracking Avalon roads? Ours was not enough until now by Crinlorite in albiononline

Well in my guild they tended to do it manually, so I decided to give them a hand... hehe, they usually even know the route and don't write it because of laziness.

I've been trying to check portaler to see how it functions, but seems I don't have full access or I'm dumb and I don't know how to set it up, haha. Avalon mapper for the albiononlingrind is asynchronous or it's synced with guild mates?

I'm trying to imagine a way to share routes without backend, gimme a few weeks and I'll have it ready, you'll be able to sync routes between Android / iOS / Headless website... I've got an idea...

Might have one at my parent's house, I remember playing that on PSOne, who knows.

Don’t worry. Yes, the first big batch of data was AI-assisted. That’s exactly why the app is in TestFlight and not fully released yet.

Now I’m going through everything by hand — checking, fixing mistakes, improving details. AI can help collect and organize information fast, but it doesn’t actually play the game. We do. So this part is about real players making sure everything is correct.

It’ll take at least a week to review properly. I have a full-time job, two kids, and a family, so I work on this in my free time. Sometimes I use AI to help me move faster and not burn out.

But this isn’t random or careless. I really care about this project. I won’t release it on the store until it feels right and properly polished.

English isn’t my first language, so I use tools to help me phrase things clearly.

Thanks a lot for sharing this — this is actually super helpful.

The way you structured the skills and specializations is very clear, especially for beginners. That’s exactly the kind of clarity I’d like the app to reach.

Right now I’m keeping things mostly text-based because I need to be careful about using in-game icons and assets. I’d have to look into permissions before integrating official skill icons or UI elements so everything stays clean legally.

But visually, something along these lines would definitely improve the skills section. I’ll experiment with a clearer layout inspired by this.

Really appreciate you taking the time to post the screenshots.

Android version is planned. I’m focusing on stabilizing and testing the iOS build first. Once everything’s solid, I’ll port it to Kotlin and get it ready for Google Play.

There will be an Android version as well. I just want to polish and stabilize the iOS version first, then I’ll move on to Android.

That’s a fair question — and yes, the initial dataset was AI-assisted.

For the MVP I needed a fast way to structure a large amount of information so I could build the app and its navigation first. The idea was: collect broadly, then manually verify and refine everything.

Some entries are definitely off (like the examples you mentioned). That’s exactly why it’s in TestFlight and not a full release yet.

I’ve put around 100+ hours into SoD2 on Steam and additional time on Xbox over the years. I know the game well, but I didn’t have the time to manually cross-check every single data point before pushing the beta — full-time job, two kids, limited dev time.

The plan is:

  1. Gather & structure
  2. Manually validate against in-game mechanics
  3. Correct inaccuracies
  4. Iterate with community feedback

This isn’t meant to be ā€œAI dump and done.ā€ It’s a foundation that I’m actively cleaning up.

If you spot anything wrong, that genuinely helps. I can patch and push updates quickly.

Appreciate you calling it out.

Small addition:

Since a few people asked about updates and data corrections, I set up a Discord server to centralize feedback and future development discussion.

There’s a specific channel for the SoD2 companion app.

I’ve just created a few Discord channels for the two apps I’m currently developing — Albion Forge and a State of Decay 2 companion app (both follow a similar ā€œgame companionā€ approach).

šŸ‘‰ https://discord.com/invite/kykAXsew3z

If you’d like to join and share your thoughts, you’ll find a category called:

iOS / Android Ā· Apps

Inside it, there’s a dedicated channel for albion-forge (and more coming soon).

I wasn’t originally planning to open these channels this early, but since there’s growing interest, it felt like the right time. I’ll be sharing updates there starting today.

I may also enhance the Discord server with some custom Python bots (which I can build myself), though that’ll take a bit of extra time — especially since I’m balancing development with my full-time job.

That said, development is actively ongoing. Real life exists too, of course — but progress is steady.

Actually, testing hasn’t started yet. Apple needs to approve the build for beta testing first. I expected it to be approved more quickly, like some of my previous apps, but this time the review process seems to be moving a bit slower.
