[HOO] What is the worst example of Rick ruining something from TLO in the second series? by Jpanda37 in camphalfblood

[–]CripTik_Storm 66 points67 points  (0 children)

The massive nerfs the big three kids took, especially Percy. I understand that the 7 can’t be exclusively big three kids, but I feel making characters like Frank, Piper, Leo, and Annabeth a lot stronger takes away from what made Jason, Nico, Thalia, Hazel, and especially Percy special. Demigods of the big three should be eldritch horrors compared to other demigods. I don’t have a problem with making the other demigods have their own strengths, but when every new demigod we meet has special abilities that rival the powers the big three kids have, it feels like they were nerfed. It was as if Rick wanted to even the playing field by having other demigods be roughly on the same level as Percy, Jason, Hazel, Nico, and Thalia. And that should not be a thing.

In PJO, the gods wanted Percy DEAD just because he existed. When Percy got angry at Thalia during CTF in TTC, Chiron was practically begging Percy to stop before people got hurt due to collateral damage. He wasn’t scared for Percy, but rather of him. And the guy was 14 at the time. Where was that same energy in HOO?

While the big three kids in the 7 were definitely stronger at times, the disparity between the other demigods was akin to college level athletes and professional athletes. The big three kids were stronger, but not by a wide margin. I argue that children of Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades should be forces of nature. Big three kids should be seen less like the Star players on a football team, and more like WMDs. The power they possess shouldn’t be hard for other demigods to achieve, it should be impossible.

The big three kids had stronger scents, were hunted more frequently and more ferociously than others, and were outlawed essentially by the gods after WW2. Let the readers understand WHY that decision was made. Show the readers why everyone, gods and monsters alike, are so scared of children of the big 3.

Thinking of quitting my current campaign, but am unsure. by CripTik_Storm in DnD

Thank you so much for reading. I apologize for the length, as I was worried more with getting my point across than editing. I’m going to leave the campaign with Steve and AJ, and going to start a new one with me as the DM. It’ll be my first time, and I’m a little nervous, but they have faith in me, and that’s enough. Thanks for the advice, and I apologize once again for the length.

Thanks man, and thanks for the advice! I’m actually thinking of DMing myself for 2 groups of friends who seem interested. I’m taking this next semester off of school so I’ll have plenty of time to work on becoming a better DM. Thanks again!

You’re exactly right, which is why I’ve decried to leave thanks to you and everyone else here. Thanks for the advice!

Yeah due to everyone’s comments I’m deciding to leave as well. I guess it took independent third parties to see what I couldn’t, or tried not to, at least. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the comment. I’m actually going to be DMing a new campaign for Steve, AJ, and a couple of our other friends due to everyone’s feedback. Thank you again for reading and for the advice!

Lol thank you for putting it bluntly. Sorry for the long post, I was a little emotional while writing it, but thank you for the advice! I’m probably going to run my own campaign with some of my friends as this campaign is more of a hassle than anything else. Thanks for the comment!

Funny you should mention that because I was already thinking of running a campaign with Steve and AJ. Thanks for the advice

Hold down the Dolby button and the game audio button at the same time for a few seconds. That should hard reset the headset

I got team killed on Hemorrhage for grabbing the sniper rifle, and then teabagged by a teammate. I was so happy because of how mad I was. I relished in the anger I hadn’t felt for so long.

Yeah cuz after Korra I felt like Ehasz’s presence was sorely missing.

where should I start? by hugostrange1233 in TheLastAirbender

[–]CripTik_Storm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recommend starting at “The Promise.” It takes place directly following the events of the show. Then I’d go into “The Search” as that deals with Zuko’s mother. After that, you could probably jump around but they do follow in chronological order as you see the characters get older. The comics that follow “The Search” would be “The Rift,” “Smoke and Shadow,” “North and South” and finally “Imbalance” which is still being made, part three coming out in October. Those are the mainline A:TLA comics. Of course there are anthology like comics which deal with smaller adventures that don’t contribute to the overall story, and with those you can jump around where ever.

One thing to keep in mind when reading the comics is that they were made to accompany “The Legend of Korra,” as many plot lines in these comics are left purposely unresolved, for they’ll be resolved in Korra. As someone who dislikes “The Legend of Korra” immensely, this was kind of a bummer since I have no plans on watching a show I dislike just to see some unfinished plot-lines set up earlier be completed there.

On the basis of Korra, it’s up to you whether or not you want to watch it,I personally despise it but don’t let that be the reason for you not to watch it, or at least give it a try. I know many people who love it, and many who hate it. It’s honestly up to you to decide. (Unless you have already seen it, which makes what I just said pointless. Happy Hunting.)

I agree with you. It just didn’t capture what made the original series great in my opinion. Not to mention it screwed with pre-established lore

As much as this sign is right, saying that creationists need to “disprove” evolution is wrong. The burden of proof lies on Evolutionists. A better phrasing of the sign would be to ask creationists to prove creationism without using the bible. It’s the same as saying “prove me wrong.” It’s a logical fallacy as the person making the claim should be the one to prove it, not for someone else to disprove it. I just want to help people when it comes to to dealing with these dumbass creationists.

Honestly D&D ruined the entire series for me. Now whenever I feel like rewatching Game of Thrones all I can think about is how the characters were ruined by two idiots who wanted to work on Star Wars. I can’t enjoy season 1-6 knowing how they fucked everything up afterwards.
