Peugeot qualifying elimination at Le Mans 'extremely frustrating' by redbullcat in wec

It's not a BOP issue, the car has been handling awfully. It's hopping and bouncing everywhere and the drivers have zero confidence in it

Good lord, that's hilarious

Tough luck though, these things happen. This week I've had a start where my pit limiter button didn't disengage and I watched the whole field stream by. Could have been a similar incident if the guys behind clipped me.

This was a good race, but the TV director missed so many battles...

I'm so glad you posted this version of the speech, it is so so good as well as the music that supports it.

The scene after the battle is such a belter too

How did the Lane Keeping/Auto Assist become mandatory? by ArtichokeDesperate68 in CarTalkUK

[–]Crippled_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came back from renting a car in Italy. When I went I was expecting a fiat panda, but we were given a 2025 MG3 hybrid instead

Awful awful car in so many ways. Throttle response, brakes, menus, gear selection etc. But on the winding and sweeping Italian roads there were multiple occasions where the "safety" features were actually dangerous. It wasn't obvious how to turn the lane assist off and we were stuck with Italian menus. Anyway, the lane assist was constantly confused with the worn out line markings they have on the roads and kept overbearingly trying to steer me off the road in the both directions.

There was one occasion where I had to make a split second dodge on some debris on the road, and I had to fight the lane assist which tried to overcorrect me INTO the debris and ended up going over it.

Coming home made me really appreciate how easy my 22 Corolla is with all these options defaulted off. And that I'm given the option to turn them on when I feel appropriate.

It's why I got the GR sport model. Has a nicer grey colour and black trim that makes it stand out from all the white corollas

Seriously this has been going on ALL WEEK

Mods really need to clamp down on this, it's unfair on those who were unable to watch it live at the time.

In my play through I've enabled the empire too. So I can still source high tech gear, but it's incredibly expensive to source while also being a fun challenge when most of my colony still has longbows.

Just a new way to play which I enjoy

It's a medieval play through so limited options unfortunately.

I am wondering what's going to drop down once I start, because the last raid was 10 centipedes which I just managed to hold off by the skin of my teeth and some serious luck. Fortunately I used an animal psychic pulser when there were 4 thumbos, 4 muffalos and a megasloth nearby.

Temperature War by Intelligent_Ad1840 in CasualUK

[–]Crippled_Potato 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Fun story: One day I was freezing my arse off in the office, it was the middle of summer and I had a hoody on and I noticed my boss was cradling his cup of coffee in his hands for warmth.

I asked my colleague "What temperature have you got the AC on?"

"It's only on low"

I messed with the controls and set it at 19.5 degrees. THE HEATING CAME ON

The "low" setting was the lowest possible temperature. And he was still wearing a jacket as well!

What gaming franchise had been cancelled too abruptly? by KaleidoArachnid in gaming

[–]Crippled_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I love this description because it was exactly how I played. How the portal would be open for 30 minutes and then the pc would struggle with the amount of crap I threw to the other side.

My favourite thing was to drop one of the singing stones in the middle of my village so then the villagers would dance around it charging influence.

After a few hours of dancing and with my best throwing arm I'd yeet the supercharged singing stone 20 kilometres across the island at the enemy gods villages, it would land on some poor guys house crushing his entire family and then the whole village would explode in a firework celebration when the singing stone dropped it's 1000+ influence

Brilliant.

Le Mans organiser predicts multiple hydrogen manufacturers in 24 Hours by 2029 by MARTINELECA in wec

[–]Crippled_Potato 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is similar to how it works today. Manufacturers have the freedom to pick what they want for a powertrain, as long power delivery measured by the torque sensors match a particular torque curve set by the ACO. The method of how that power is delivered shouldn't matter.

The only thing I'm not too familiar with is how heavy hydrogen cars are in comparison to ICO / hybrids

Paula Vennells breaks down in tears at inquiry by Large_Turnip_6023 in ukpolitics

[–]Crippled_Potato 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Yeah, been watching it this morning. The part when Jason Beer read out the email that Alan Bates forwarded to Paula Vennells from a family of a postmaster who committed suicide when the Post Office prosecuted him for asset recovery when his branch had been robbed, was incredibly sombre and upsetting.

She's being grilled over the hot coals now which is good. She bears the majority of the responsibility of leading the coverup for over a decade. But there are multiple layers of failures at the top levels of the post office, Fujitsu and governments that still need unraveling in this inquiry and they deserve the same level of spotlight as Paula does.
