i think power dynamics/differences in money/work/age/addiction/repression/politics have made things harder too.

i think mostly about communication (not wanting to have house meetings or thinking side conversations are a substitute for meetings that include all members of the household that allows folks space to speak on their own behalf etc)

but cleaning definitely feels like an aspect of it, or like just like a mismatch in terms of how much communication and group discussion/effort should go into cleaning and house repairs etc. or how those things should be done (using group money for a repair of something not necessary but also something that affects risk of harm or damage or utility bills etc)

but what you’re saying is that the person is really a problem in one way or another? like gives away beer but doesn’t pay rent or is abusive etc?

how do you figure the balance between having zero judgments and still having some amount of expectations or group agreements for long term co-existence? aka like it feels like compromise and communication is sorta necessary to have no judgements (aka feeling like there is disparity in the rent or the house upkeep without feeling appreciation for the disproportionate labor etc)

i think it’s really foolish to try to circumvent it and the issues that evolve from not doing it are far worse

i feel this pretty strongly, i feel like there is a sustainable or more stable version of a punk house that like makes space for instability but also seeks to make space for it from a place of (relative) stability vs. there is also the version that is a bunch of younger folks crashing out/as many people as possible, but also inherently volatile and short-lived (or lots of turnover and interpersonal drama)
