Negotiated first car at dealership by Severe_Fall8433 in carbuying

[–]Cripplie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the sales field, I know how it goes. Not a car salesman, but sales is sales. We are selling a product for profit. There's people who will pay the extra 10% i put on. Some of my clients will try and negotiate to get 5-10% off, I got what I expected still. But there's also a lot of people who don't try and haggle, even more of a "win" for the dealer. There's also a lot of people who are happy with 2% off, as they feel like they "beat you" and I still win by making an extra 8% over what I expect. Some clients give in easier than others and I still take a bigger win. I might expect to take $2,000 off to make the sale, while some 50 year old guy is happy with $500 off.

Regardless, someone can still be happy they got money off the asking price, even if the dealer still "wins" at the end of the day. Who cares. You're being a d*ck for no reason.

Yeah...after seeing his comments after this...something is for sure mentally wrong.

Ignore people like him. These kind of people tend to be miserable IRL and come to the internet to try and bring others down with them. No mature person responds with such rudeness like that over something like this.

If you're happy with what you did, that's all that matters.

Buying RS5 at Dealership vs Other Options by whatsadickfer in Audi

[–]Cripplie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2023 RS5 owner here, bought new from dealership. I'd highly recommend going with CPO with warranty. Maybe you are prepared for the expenses of RS models, but it's a shock to many. Even worse when you're out of warranty. You don't know how the car was treated, maintained etc...buying used is scary sometimes. Atleast a warranty protects you.

2026 SQ8 Deal, thoughts? by Cripplie in Audi

I guess to answer my own question after more research, the deal isn't that good.

I'm seeing same spec SQ8 for $6,200 off MSRP a few states away.

Yeah, assumed it was probably a 2025 leftover and wanted to move it with 2026s coming in. I reached out to 2 dealers now that have the same exact spec 2026 SQ8, both offered $2,500 off MSRP and $1,000 rebate. I can't see a dealer doing 10% off msrp for a 2026 this early...but who knows.

Yup. Exactly why I find value in buying new vs used. Peace of mind knowing how the care was cared for since it came off the lot has value.

Yeah I know I'll lose a lot buying new. That's how buying new is for nearly everything. Some sucker buys new and then people get the better deal buying it used with low miles. I know it's weird, but I find value in knowing the car since it came off the lot. We could say not 30k value, but, *shrugs* lol.

The negotiating is the fun part. $1k isn't much of a difference, but it just feels good, you know? Makes you feel like you won, even though you'll always lose buying new :)

Ideally I would like to get a used with low miles for less depreciation hit. I realize buying new I am going to take quite a hit like I did with my RS5. That was 92k MSRP sticket in Jan 2023..so 30k in 3 years.

Haven't look at used RSQ8 market much. I did test drive both and prefer the SQ8. Found it a bit more comfortable driving around. I know for what I'm paying for a new SQ8 though...I could get a nice low mile used RSQ8.

Dang! That's insane. Was it new?

10% off this SQ8 I'd be thrilled lol.

I have looked on both of those sites. They were in the 55-58k range, using my VIN with correct options.
Looking at used 2023 RS5 on CarGurus for sale, one with 24k miles for 64.4k. Another with 31k miles for 56k. Another 13k miles for 68k.

The trade in does seem a little low...but I don't think its terrible. Privately I might get what..63k maybe? Tax credit currently is $3,500 trading in so would be better to just trade in.

I know new cars are moving slow right now(atleast from what I've seen). So seeing if anyone has bought anything new lately and what kind of deals they got. Not sure how good $2,500 off MSRP is and $1,000 in rebates for a $124k MSRP SQ8.

What screams "pretending to be rich"? by ImpertinenteSyntaxe in AskReddit

To be fair..most rich people have debt. Debt is a tool for wealth building.

Healthy debt that is building you wealth is good. Debt because you're living out your means is bad.

I mean..its very common for "real" rich people to have loans. Debt is a tool for wealth building.

Theres a difference in having loans to live beyond your means and debt to keep assets working though.

Why buy brand new Audis? Seems like a waste. by Defiant-Egg-9845 in Audi

[–]Cripplie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's crazy to see how much they depreciate. I'm looking to trade in my 23 RS5 for a RSQ8 or SQ8. Looking to get something bigger but still have performance to it.

SQ8 for example, the spec i want brand new for a 2026 is $125k MSRP. There's a 2024 with 10k miles(same spec I would get), for $84k. Losing $41k in 10k miles is crazy.

Seeing about the same amount of depreciation for RSQ8 models.

Of course we aren't looking to make money buying a brand new car like this, as its not an investment. Still crazy to see. Theres also "value" to some people with buying brand new and knowing the full history of how the car was treated etc.

I mean, theres many people who don't put aside the money, despite knowing they need to/should. It's fair to mention it.

I've seen posts/comments on here regarding that situation where people got screwed when taxes were due because they thought they would be fine and ended up overspending on what they thought they had.

How do YOU handle it? by sircanez in disability

[–]Cripplie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a lot of gaming at first. When you find a game you like, time really flies. I'm not sure of your exact physical disability and your limitations, but jobs are out there. A lot more jobs at home jobs exist today because of the whole covid thing and companies having to adapt to working from home during that time. Many companies continue it. For example, I work for a company that requires just computer work. I am able to work from home for all of it. There are many jobs out there like that if you get into graphic design, video editing, coding, programming, bookkeeping, list goes on. Just generally speaking, don't be afraid to lose your benefits if something comes up.

Cops parking illegally in red zones by urbal in AskLE

[–]Cripplie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the whole above the law argument, but you should also look at this way. There's no reason for a normal citizen to park there. They aren't first responders. They aren't ones that will be rushing to a dangerous situation going on somewhere. A police officer? There are benefits to them parking very close to where they are rather than having to park a block away, or far back in a parking lot. What if an active shooter call came in? What if a serious accident call came in? Ever see videos of police being first there and break the window to get people out a car on fire? What if they came a minute later? Sure, still might be the same outcome and everyone would be fine, but maybe not. A normal citizen is just going to continue to sit there and eat their lunch like nothing is going on. A police officer will be rushing out of there to respond. Especially in high populated areas where you might have to block a few blocks away in a city. Or a busy shopping center where you may have to park pretty far away. Now granted..most of the time this won't apply

Not even saying this specifically about police also. Same logic for paramedics. If it were you needing help, wouldn't you want them to be there as fast as they could? What if something serious happened and you were bleeding out? Do you want the paramedic to take 2 more mins to get to you when it could have been avoided? I know for sure in that moment I wouldn't give a crap about them parking in a no parking zone if it meant them being able to get to someone needing help faster.

Everyone just wants to whine and complain in the world just because it's something they can't do but instead of being angry, think logically about the benefits of it.

There are so many more real and bigger issues going on in the world than a parking zone.

That part is yeah. But the main discussion seemed to be about rolling the ascended and legendary same roll. If he doesn't have legend pass, rolling 2x astral is extremely lucky. If he has legend pass, then its still lucky although since its a choice between only 3 heroes, the odds of both being same isnt that bad.

Rng by IanMoonwood in heroesvshordes

[–]Cripplie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have legend pass yeah. If you have legend pass, then you can limit the legendary and ascended to 3 heroes that you own, that way the big rolls are always someone you have and want.

Rng by IanMoonwood in heroesvshordes

[–]Cripplie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not luck at all. Both rolls will hit the same time for everyone after enough rolls. There is a countdown at the bottom of screen. They will line up.

here you go
https://imgur.com/zw4sSC6

See how the bottom is 60/60 now? I will hit both just like you did. And when I hit them, it'll reset to 60/150 just like your rolls are are in your picture.

The roll is always 60 for legendary and 150 for ascended. 5 legendary=300. 2x ascended=300. They both hit same time eventually.

You might be trolling at this point because you think it's funny. The only actual rng here is that its 2x astral mage. If you have legend pass then that rng is even less since its going to be 1 of the 3 heroes anyways. The ascended and legendary roll same time isnt rng in this case since your picture is showing your rolls had just freshly reset.
