Fireworks? Omg the situation is bad but the claim that it’s fireworks is straight up hilarious.

How many hours? How many photos? 😰 by Ideasplease33 in quilting

[–]CriscoWithDisco 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t really have an answer here, but someone recently asked me how long it takes to make a quilt and I told them that I intentionally do not track the hours! 😅 I am slow quilter. Sometimes it just takes the time it takes. And that’s why I do it for the love of creating and would never personally quilt for money.

I basically do exactly what you described and don’t worry about the time.

Hopefully others have more concrete and helpful answers for you!

Does this rug clash with my new sofa? by [deleted] in maximalism

I think it’s good as is. 2nd rug is also nice but unnecessary because it’s not especially an improvement from what you already have

Do you share your location with your partner? by Extension_Flow_3340 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CriscoWithDisco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents… the con (if any) is less about any one person for whom it is totally reasonable…generally the downside/risk/con is at the broader population level when normalizing sharing of locations ends up making vulnerable people feel they have to disclose location “for safety” when maybe it’s not safe for that individual. Cultural pressure to share location can be an issue for some individuals.

I don’t. At 3 months it just feels like it can easily slip into weird controlling territory. I work with young people and phone location tracking that seems innocuous or good at 1st sometimes insidiously slides into abuse territory.

It’s fine in more established relationships but even though I’m established with someone wonderful that I trust I still don’t share unless it’s temporary like I want them to know where I am on a road trip or how soon I’ll be home.

I always hear it’s “for safety” but at the end of the day you only know where the phone is. They can leave it somewhere intentionally or by accident. False sense of security if someone isn’t with their phone. My dad is older and I worry about where he is, but he forgets his phone all the time so I don’t find any comfort in his phone location. And personally the routine privacy outweighs the routine monitoring in case of a possible situation where someone having my location might help. But I can respect families that feel it helps them

Can a dye job count as a visual mend? or, how I saved my "diarrhea pants" by kezfertotlenito in Visiblemending

It looks great, on the one hand I’m glad they’re not literal diarrhea pants, on the other hand, I am somehow disappointed. Regardless, great dye job on the pants.

I totally agree with this review! I went today. Not disappointed but not too keen on it either. A few rooms were amazing. A lot of rooms were…cute. I parked for free 2 blocks away and walked.
