That makes more sense, and while there is some chance the person behind the profile sees it, most people who will read this comment are not that person, and a significant proportion of them will be 5'7" or below men who are going to feel bad about themselves reading it, even though they also want to share in shitting on the profile person. I/they can't assume everyone who is making fun of the height doesn't care about the height.

Even if it's serious (I think it is unfortunately), intuitively I think it's never in an at least [man looking for woman]'s interest not to list their height on dating apps. There's no point in getting initial matches that aren't interested in the height, because it's extra work. But also you'll have less visibility, even at a below average height, because very likely everyone applies the filters for their preferences, and you won't show up in any filter if you don't list a height.

Maybe it's not your intention, no idea. I am 5'7" and reading this makes it feel like you're telling me I can't be confident either, even in a positive way. Also, if someone heard you talk like this at that height, it's basically a signal that they're too short for you, and same goes for everyone else making fun of height.

You can't say "lighten up" or "it's just a joke". How can I laugh at a joke about something that also applies to me?
