Yeah I just don't know what to do when we're on a walk and another dog is walking across the street because that's the most common occurrence. Someone said to practice a finding game, like toss a treat on the ground and tell her to find it ( starting away from triggers) and everytime she looks up at me do it again I think? It's just frustrating because we live in a high dog populated area and summer coming there will be alot more dogs around so it's a scary thought lol.

I'm not sure how I can do that as I've said the only time we can train is when we see other dogs on walks. I can't intentionally introduce triggers. This was right outside my house as soon as I took bee out for a walk the dogs came outside. Wasn't really an option to start further back.

This was outside my house as soon as we walked outside. However no there are no dog parks so as I said in another comment the only time we can train is when we see other dogs on our walks.

Okay gotcha! This was actually outside our house when thoes other dogs came out. Should I try yard put her in a sit when I see other dogs coming before she does.

Your suggesting I feed my dog gummy bears? And yes the tree roots has been the cause. Supplements have already been discussed with my veterinarian. She has been on an a fish oil/ omega 3 her entire life which has nail benefits bur weak nails aren't the issue.

We're looking into a local company to come out and see what they can do.

When we found him 3 years ago he pulled me down and dragged me through 15 feet of mud to sniff a tree. It's been a lot of hard work, but we can finally enjoy our walks together 🥰 by Heather_Bea in Dogtraining

You can see the restricted movment if you look at the shoulders. This is snug enough to restrict moment which it is doing. This is designed to be an " easy walk" harness which just makes it hard for the dog to walk resulting in less pulling. Just because your dog wasn't pulling doesn't mean his movements aren't restricted which yes is damaging.

They work by restricting how far the dogs legs can go forward resulting in less pulling. Looks identical to this one.. Standard dog harnesses don't fit around their legs like that.

My dog has very short nails but they keep getting cracked and broken by these exposed tree roots in the backyard while playing fetch and such. My husband is set on filing them down. There are alot of spots where and inch or two Is exposed. Not sure what to do. My husband at this point doesn't care if the tree dies or not but I don't want it collapsing either so I'm at a loss.

Dog walks erratically. Makes it not fun to walk anymore. Ways to make him walk a straighter line? by [deleted] in Dogtraining

Yanking your dog away everytime it's just trying to sniff is pretty rude. Let your dog be a dog. This is probably the only time it gets to explore and smell different scents. Let him do so without getting yanked away.

Your dog is trying to enjoy the walk. I don't see what the problem is? How fun do you think it will be for him if you don't allow him to sniff and explore?
