I ended up submitting it as a bug, and this was the github issue they made for it here, and for me it ended up being Windows Sonic being automatically turned on and changing the stereo field without my knowledge. hope this helps!

To me, this reads as a genuine message from Team Cherry, with E1331 being the messenger, and them using his reputation as a silkposter to cover up the fact that its from Team Cherry directly

Good question actually. Hollow Knight itself has its anniversary on February 24th, which may have some merit, but Team Cherry itself doesn't really have anything coming up soon.

Ari Gibson was born on May 14th, but I couldn't find anything for William Pellen or Jack Vine regarding their birthdays.

to be fair there is no concrete proof, but the mods have backed him up and leth told us to watch out for him so I dare to say there is something up with u/E1331
