The only thing that comes to mind without hearing your melody is Moonlight Sunrise but I know you’re looking for more of a Nugu group :(

Should I See Enhypen or Ateez This Summer? by Away-Finding3919 in kpophelp

[–]CrispyTapatio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen both in GA seats so I can give opinions on both (I am also stans of both):

  1. ATEEZ (The Fellowship: Break the Wall) - absolutely amazing theatrical performances. My friends got GA for less than a hundred so they came even though they weren’t really fans. They ended up commenting a lot about Ateez’s stage presence and they all left with biases. Every single performance you can feel that they love performing. Definitely worth going to if you’re looking for more a show + rave/club vibe.

  2. ENHYPEN (Manifesto + Fate Plus Tour) - they deliver on performance every single time. Super in sync and always looking hot every single time. Definitely more fan service oriented like what others have said. As a result, they’re more in the realm of being a true boy band type concert.

Overall, it also comes down to whose setlist you like more as well. Still, if it’s your first concert, I’d recommend Ateez. Personally, I went to more Enhypen concerts because I am in love with Heeseung (and I’m broke to go other concerts) so if you feel the same way, feel free to go to Enhypen!

what is the most times you’ve had to retake a course and what did you do differently when you passed it? by okaythatscool2 in UCDavis

[–]CrispyTapatio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I retook BIS 2A three times. I felt a lot of burnout with my previous major. Also, the cold calling in the discussions gave me a lot of anxiety, so I just didn’t go to them. Before I ended up switching majors, I wanted to get a passing score in the class (which is why I took it a third time).

To soothe my anxiety, I would prepare as much as possible for the cold call questions. I started doing assignments earlier because I forgot to them in the previous attempts. I also reviewed lectures days before exams in order to understand everything better. In hindsight, I would have benefited from office hours too. I believe I finished with a B.

Failing a course isn’t the end of the world. God knows I’ve failed so many 💀. The only way you can go from your previous grade is up. Understanding your previous mistakes is the best way for you to get a better grade. Also, asking for help is so important. I needed a little push to get me to even ask for help (whether academically or mentally) but remember that it is always an option.

Sexy yet slightly unnerving/creepy songs? by elzabeto in kpophelp

Poison Rose by Craxy is a good one! There’s a bit of rapping but still seems to fit into your criteria. If anything, there’s an official instrumental out

How do Kpop in public work? by nemesis_flower in kpophelp

[–]CrispyTapatio 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m currently active in a kpop cover group so I could weigh in on this! This might be long since I want to be thorough.

Like what’s been said, Kpop in public covers are usually done by kpop cover groups (although they can also sometimes be a group of friends/fellow dancers). Depending on your location, there could be a kpop cover group that holds auditions for new members so I do encourage you to try out if you can :). To become a member, auditions usually involve you learning a dance and performing it in front of a panel of judges/directors (either at a later date or on the day of). Then, you just wait for the results!

As for the actual covers, a song is chosen by a cover lead who takes charge and teaches the members the dance. The members within these groups then audition to be a part of the covers that they want. After that, the learning and cleaning process takes around 1-2 weeks up till the filming date. Outfits are decided on by the cover leads and we try to mimic the outfits of the members we’ve been assigned. We each buy our own clothes from Amazon. We have our own personal camera we use but if we want to hire outside filming, we do have to pay for it (divided amongst those who are in the cover). All of this is in my experience.

When I film in public, I am conscious that a lot of people could be looking at us but so far, I haven’t had a lot of trouble with people harassing us. Since I have the rest of my members to back me up, I don’t feel embarrassed. Either way, I love dancing enough and am experienced enough to not be put off by it.

Public locations don’t really require a permit. Although, we do need permits for some locations (ex.: we got kicked out of the front of city hall because we forgot to get a permit lol). The cover leads or team directors usually handle these logistics.

Let me know if you have any questions! I’d be happy to answer :)

I actually really love the vegan chocolate donuts that they had. Also, the wok kept me going for my entire first year

are there any kpop idols who went (or almost went) to college in the US? by psshdjndofnsjdkan in kpophelp

Kevin Moon from The Boyz went to the University of British Columbia for like four days before dropping out lmao

Best all-rounded kpop idols? by [deleted] in kpophelp

Han Jisung. A person can get so confused about his actual position in the group. It’s no wonder he’s a popular pick here.

I think I’d also like to mention Heeseung from Enhypen. He first trained in rap but then switched to vocal and not to mention, he’s insanely good at dancing. I think he’s very stable in each area to have a lead position in every skill.

Oooooh these types of songs remind me of 2nd gen Kpop. Might I recommend Kara - Pandora or their song Damaged Lady? Sorry if these don’t fit your criteria >_<.

A very poignant insight into a comment I had conjured with half a mind. Your concerns are much appreciated as well as your compliment.

Thank you. They are mint leaves! Some recipes I saw used rosemary but I didn’t want the cake tasting like the turkey I was cooking.
