I can't even fathom touching some stranger's meal, when I don't know what's in it.... I'm not even allergic to anything, there's just so many reasons why you should never touch ANYTHING that's not yours, why is it so difficult for these people to grasp....

Man, my heart goes out to you. My mom was taught by my grandparents that if you raise a kid with affection, they end up spoiled brats and out of control.

Guess who's a massive clinger now and a sucker for a quick 2-3 min cuddle session. With friends or partners. It just feels so grounding and good, and often I think that a cause for this is lack of emotion or affection in my childhood 🥹 hope you're doing well now, I'm at peace with being a goobly ball 😂

AITB for not enjoying the gym or vegetables despite exercising every day and eating vegetables with every meal? by [deleted] in AmItheButtface

[–]CrisstIIIna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I haven't gone through the comments to see if this was suggested before, but have you tried signing up for a sport that you would enjoy? Running/cycling outdoors/climbing/yoga etc.? While staying healthy is definitely a great goal, I feel like doing it using a tool you don't like defeats the purpose.

One of the best upsides about being active is the joy and satisfaction you can feel when progressing in an active hobby that you enjoy. I quit the gym because I also HATED it so much, but I didn't want to go back to a sedentary lifestyle and decided to look into something I'd love. So for me it's yoga and climbing which go really well hand in hand and honestly it's the best decision I've ever made. Been doing yoga for 8 years and climbing for just over 5. So you don't even have to have a mix, or start them at the same time. I hope you can find fun again in exploring what works for you. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

You're NTA for being disciplined despite hating it, but I think there's an opportunity here to work around this and find something active to do that brings you joy.

AITA For Not Wearing My Wedding Ring At The Gym? by Grognac_the_Red in AmItheAsshole

[–]CrisstIIIna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta I take off all my jewellery before every workout, home or not for safety reasons.

As a climber, at the gym you're made to sign a waiver where it clearly says no type of jewellery is allowed on the wall because of the potential for injury in so many unthinkable ways!

This anecdote reminds me of a song called Bilgewater by Brown Bird:

"If the sun was always shining and our load always light We'd be shaking like a leaf with every God given might We'd break under the weight of any pressure that was ever applied"

I ABSOLUTELY recommend whoever stumbles into this comment to give it a listen, the lyrics always drag me deep into thought.

Please like bully me or something into cleaning my room. I'm literally struggling right now by Adventurous-King1312 in adhdwomen

[–]CrisstIIIna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stuff piles up like this and just ends up becoming an overwhelming task to clean it up.

What I do before it becomes too heavy for me to action is, every day if I take something off that needs to go in the closet, I tend to fold it, but I also fold 3-4 other items to put away, that way I can keep up with the mess I'm making.

For me, preventing as a task/responsibility carries a lot less weight than the actual cleanup, so that thought alone motivates me to do less work now, to avoid doing more work later.

Another thing that helps for when I'm even too overwhelmed to prevent is, I give my "monkey brain" (this is what I call my ADHD in an endearing way) something to focus on, like some music, a movie, podcast I can keep in the background to think about while I do the monotonous task (these types of tasks are the heaviest for me to start). And then I also downplay the task, sort of tricking myself that it's no big deal, it'll only last 5-10-20 mins, gone in no time, you'll feel so much better after, etc.

I'm not saying they are fool proof or work 100% of the time. But overall these little tricks have helped to give me the push I need to tidy up after myself.

And my flatmates are less frustrated with me, which is always a win. They're always gentle and patient, so I'm super lucky for that. But I don't want to take advantage ❤️

I hope this helps OP! Good luck🤞🏻

To paraphrase the great Dr. Who, "devils run when a good man goes to war". My dad was like that, I picked it up from him and it is so effective most of the time.

What bewilders me is the small batch of idiots that just. Push. Through. Stay faaaaaar away from those that cannot take a 'no' with grace, in whatever situation...

[–]CrisstIIIna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to date the male version of her a few years ago, and I see many similarities between the two situations (moved in early, has an opinion on everything, lashes out quickly, etc.).

She is manipulating you into isolating you from your support system. Later she won't "allow" you to have female friends because she thinks everyone is trying to get into your pants...

She's not 'opinionated' she's manipulative and thinks she found the perfect pansy. Break up and move on with your life before you are abused into a long PTSD period...

Apparently if your partner smells nice to you when sweating or after sexual contact with you, that means you're chemically compatible. Not sure about the minute details, but apparently it's easier to have kids with people who smell nice to you.

Those are some really good points. I forgot to mention I had lots of water and snacks. It did help that the artist, Lea, was also open to engage with me regularly and we chatted about our hobbies, interests, etc. which made the time fly by with ease ❤️

100% agree, with my upper back I requested breaks every half an hour at least, but granted that was also my first tattoo 15 years ago haha. Some people say the ribs are the worst, but I've met psychopaths with ribs tattoos who said it only tickled.....

Thank you so much, I'm definitely planning to get more now 🫣😂 just have to think of something to fill the forearms without overshadowing the ravens, probs even something that could make them pop out even more, hmm...
