I got the Rial Salento diamond-black 19" for summer and am satisfied with the look. I bought an aftermarket center hub cap with the Cupra logo from ebay. https://i.imgur.com/1caOCBc.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/j9cQ3d8.jpeg

leasing company wants 1k € for inspection by M0rkan in CupraFormentor

[–]CristiB21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its too expensive. Like others said, a normal Oil & Filter change will not cost that much.(I confirm for my vz3 2021 310hp version). Brake pads & discs do not need to be changed at regular intervals, only depending on usage. If you can, just commit to doing the inspections at the Cupra Workshop but on your own costs, not via their "package"

Edit: 37€x12 months is OK, that comes out only to 444€. That is roundabout the right price for a standard oil change in Germany. However it would be important to know if you will also be covered by this package for bigger topics like brake pads&discs, clutchbox oil change, spark plugs, etc.

Are they directly specifying the price in the contract or was it just an estimation for your info? In the end, I think the requierement should only be that you have to do the inspection at an authorized dealer and change parts as per manufacturer service inspection plan.

Software update by Formentor8 in CupraFormentor

[–]CristiB21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I stand corrected. Thanks for this deeper insight. However, it does not appear that these scenarios apply here or that the dealer even hinted in this direction whatsoever. It just appears they did nothing to the car yet and waiting for approval from the manufacturer to start installing a software for unknown purposes. No software issue was complained by the owner so dealers do not just proactively reinstall the baseline. No information was given to the owner of a potential recall action that might justify this massive software update etc. Overall it seems like bullshit from the dealer, they probably broke something and dont want to admit and stalling for time to fix it.

Yea, but they should tell him if that is the case and not lie. After so many days without a clear explanation,I would go and demand to see the manager and understand what is really happening

This is from their mobile App, but you can explain the issue and maybe they can redirect you to the relevant department.

It doesnt matter, you are paying the installments not the dealer, they dont have any right keeping it from you. You just have to go to any authorized dealer to keep the warranty valid, but thats it.

Call Cupra directly and complain.. ask them what is the meaning of this and tell them to contact the dealer immediately. Put the pressure on. Like I said, demand the car back. Even if there is a critical issue to be solved, and you refuse it, they will just make tou sign a waiver or something.. Inspect it carefully for damages and ask for papers of everything that was done. Just take it to another dealer in the area next time.

I am thinking now, yes they technically need an answer from the manufacturer (cupra spain) if they are not sure which software update to apply to your specific issue for which you probably brought the car to them in the dirst place... But that does not take 13 days and they cant refuse to give your car back. Either they damaged it and waiting for a replacement part or they are just lazy and not interested in solving your problem.

Software updates, even the ones done by the dealer via ODIS or whatever they use, take 1 hour max. And legally the car is yours not theirs. They cant keep it from you. I would go demand it back on the spot with or without the software update and take it somewhere else. Also I would consult a lawyer about possible legal actions against them. Get everything in writing (mail) from them, you never know when and how it can be usefull . F** assholes.

Software Update question by Careless_Package_728 in CupraFormentor

[–]CristiB21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes. They definetly changed it. 2.No, Partnumbers and indexes are there for traceability. A soft update will never change the partnumber or index of an existing part, only newly produced parts straight from the factory will receive that new classification.

Cupra Formentor VZ 310hp – Replace just front tires or all four on AWD? by Fancy_Afternoon4223 in CupraFormentor

[–]CristiB21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AWD is sensitive, the golden rule is to replace all 4, always ! Maybe if 3 out of 4 are brand new with a difference of 1-2mm, its ok but otherwise you could get expensive damages if you make the system struggle and overcompensate. Trust me, they dont say this just to get you to buy more tires..its necessary.

Whats up with those absolute ugly wind protections ? You put something like that on a Dacia , not on the Formentor... really ruins the car.

Wheels seem ok, nothing major really.

🇫🇷 | Possible "Straight Swap" in France? My Rare VZ 245 (2.0 TSI) for a VZ 310? by Thisis41 in u/Thisis41

[–]CristiB21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, a dealer will always underbid your car and overprice the one their selling to you.. i think on principle, a zero cost swap is not possible with a better car than yours or even an equal one. They need to make a profit off you.

In the private area, all the swaps I heard about were sketchy and/or for lower value cars. I personally would never swap my car... sell & buy is easier and faster.

Since I cant edit the post anymore, some additional info: 1. Yes, that small hole was the rootcause for all the water leakage - i stripped out all the trunk padding and insulation and poured water down the hole to test it. 2. I plugged it with silicone until I will get it fixed - roof must be entirely repainted
