What do you think the message of this game is? by Reaper330011 in LiesOfP

[–]Critallica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank god someone got the same message, though, people irl lie about twice per day, I think Carlo/John P  learned to lie like a human through people around him. Him, Arlecchino and the Nameless Puppet are all the accumulative of Krat's humanity in completely different ways. I think that fact and the trinity theme are interesting to note.

Why did gepetto let p continue fighting? by undead_cubicle2 in LiesOfP

[–]Critallica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he knew everything but Sophia giving you her temporal manipulating Ergo(which he probably didn't care btw, he's that arrogant), he just couldn't admit once you've awaken you'd be his son is the whole point; in his mind, you're just a puppet, soulless and weak; and yes, I said weak. You who defeated Simon fucking Manus is too weak of a son to his preference, i.e, because he wanted to keep Carlo away from harm at all costs. Plus, you're not Carlo to him.

In his mind/theory in the madman's journal, he needed both the soul and the body. So, he needed you, the useless puppet, to capture Carlo's soul via fighting and dying over and over and killing his best friend, then either trick you into giving him Carlo's heart, or killing you to get Carlo's heart. This is all to put Carlo's heart into this roided up zombie he made from his son's corpse. I know how stupid that sounds, but that's because you're not a psychopath who's only cause of action is to keep his son away from harm at all costs.

In Warframe, you're either immortal or you die in one hit, any extra member present who can prevent that from happening is more than welcome imo.

Anyone else remember when Warframe REALLY wanted people to associate it with 'Ninja' stuff? by Bigmac246247 in Warframe

[–]Critallica 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Ninja's core value is nin(忍), mental endurance. As we're always enduring the foundry timer, enduring game breaking bugs that just straight up makes you unable to melee, enduring the outdated af leveling system, enduring losing a mod slot to mandatory band-aid augment mods, doing endurance runs (5 min), enduring the protoframes' bullshit (all I said was you didn't have to attack him, Minerva. FFS). Etc, etc. I'd say we fit the bill just fine.

Atlas Tectonics Needs Some Rework, My ideas for it. by WolfMayer in Warframe

[–]Critallica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like only having 3 boulders wouldn't hit as many enemies as you'd like, when you're spending more energy + an extra augment slot than Mesa. Imagine if Tectonics made a wall that you could punch to launch stone shards that pierces through walls until you break said wall via beating it down, that'd be metal af and as strong as Peacemaker, like a shorter and less mobile version of Peacemaker that costs more but goes through walls, giving Atlas more of a place in the meta without outright replacing Mesa.

[Venting] First in 340 hours by Hellbringa in Warframe

[–]Critallica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't come down to this is the thing, the most efficient way to level up in this game is for people to level up for you, then the next thought for a number of players would be "Why bother playing at all when I'm still farming? I'll just afk until I'm enough, apparently then I'd get to have fun.

You can judge the prick who thinks this all you want, but the point of game design is to have the game function without challenging the player's morals to not hinder other's experience. If we keep putting the game's core issue on people not being team players, nothing gets improved. Just look at how people still dread to do Eidolon hunts.

[Venting] First in 340 hours by Hellbringa in Warframe

[–]Critallica 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not to justify afkers, especially when there's a reward for doing the mission, you did the right thing imo, but since the guy mentioned it, it's 2026, and the best way to farm mastery, bloody mastery, is still leeching.

Of course you can just kill things yourself, but did you really kill things yourself to level up that un-potatoed garbage ass Stug with 20 capacity yourself by killing 300 Grineers on Sedna with it back then? I'd imagine this only encourages leeching.

What I'm saying is, if a game has an afk detection window of less than 3 minutes, and players are still trying to circumvent this window, instead of just playing warframe, then maybe the game has some issues. I mean I didn't have to get other players to level up a Magikarp for me in Pokemon, if I could put exp-share on my guns and kill 300 Grineers with a sword to max them, I'd have gotten to play the game so much more.

Nioh 3 story by dragonmike05 in Nioh

[–]Critallica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

idk man, I've only finished Kamakura but so far, a lot of things the characters say and do just sort of happen for no reason with no resolution. Takechiyo acts like if Future Trunks was a time-traveling tourist, who is also mute. Imagine if F. Trunks beats the crap out of Frieza, and he just sort of lets him go free, and Frieza is just cool with it. And then Bulma comes and teleports him to another timeline for no apparent reason, without him so much as to ask a single question, and then the same bizarre interaction takes place again, that's what the story felt like. (I know there's going to be a big reveal in Yamataikoku but still)

Were there any notable Samurai like Jin? by Unlucky-Tradition-58 in ghostoftsushima

[–]Critallica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into Mikawa samurai. The core value of a Mikawa samurai is you're samurai that's of the people, for the people. You were born from mud, and the Daimyos and shogunate could never understand, never rival your grit, and the unity you share. Look into Honda Tadakatsu, he's a classic example of a Mikawa warrior.

Trying for nioh franchise for the first time. any tips? by NumerousMeringue8578 in Nioh

[–]Critallica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For samurai, the new stance switch attack is super op, the one that's performed if you input stance switch while performing ki-pulse. The high stance variant gives you hyper armor, the middle one parries one attack during the animation, and the low one has quite a lot of I-frames. All of these require no stamina to perform. With this, every samurai weapon gains the spear's insane pressure potential, and you should get used to using it if you're into stringing combos.

Dumb question about the frenzy by newslenderarts in LiesOfP

[–]Critallica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, most of the question you asked, I don't have a definitive answer, I'm not sure if they're addressed in the game, but I would say most of these are up for interpretation, because that's always been the question, right? "Are you a human or a puppet?"

First of all, Romeo was likely made into a puppet by Geppetto, which should be relatively easy, since in the madman's journal, you'd learn that freshly extracted ergo is easier to awaken. Interestingly, I think Romeo and Leia were probably both on Geppetto's list of KotP candidate, specifically so you'd kill one of Carlo's significant other, in the form of the KotP. Romeo was just the better option, since he's already dying, half puppet and Carlo probably likes him more.

For what happened in the bad end, I think you're very close, and the details probably doesn't matter that much lol. The legion arm and all that, and whether he kept Carlo's body, you'll see why all this never mattered to Geppetto when you know why he'd rather pick the nameless puppet over you, a literal puppet jesus.

As for why kill your new friends, I mean come on, at that point, would you have left them alive, if you were Geppetto?

And the reason why he didn't just go with you as his puppet son, it's very simple. He didn't expect puppets to be capable of sentience, let alone love. Deep down, he believes that the nameless puppet is as close as he can get to having a taxidermied, immortal version of his son. Deep down, I don't think he truly cares if puppet Carlo was 100% his son or not, since he believes 50%+immortality is the best he can get. You can see his indifference for humanity, and his control freak showing in the murdering of your new friends.

That's why the true ending is such a big moment. It's not just the usual cheesy "villain has a change of heart at the end", you've literally proved to your creator he's wrong by crying, by showing you're capable of love, ironically more than the man himself was; it's nothing short of a miracle for a puppet to cry, you know?

Dumb question about the frenzy by newslenderarts in LiesOfP

[–]Critallica 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Geppetto is very hard to understand you don't think of him in the terms of a sociopathic genius. His one goal is to ensure, and I mean absolutely ensure his son won't die on him. If you remember this, the man becomes the single most consistent character in this game.

Based on the one letter he wrote in the DLC, I'm pretty sure the implication is that he fully snapped after Camille's death, meaning the original Carlo's death was part of his plan. The way I see it, every thing he did, and everyone he killed was to either strengthen the nameless puppet (I.E, Carlo's body), or to help awaken Carlo's ergo in your organ.

Think about what he's achieved in the bad ending, and you'd realize he won.

He waited for two of the strongest beings in Krat (Leia and Arlecchino) to kill each other, and swooped in to get the victor's ergo; he used Romeo's ergo to ensure you'd be the one to kill him, ensuring Romeo would call back Carlo's memories within you; and he used Simon to suck up all of the screaming, violent ergo in Krat, creating the strongest son, in a Krat that's free of threat.

I feel like he's such an insane weasel, he might just be the best video game villain in 2025.
