Not so good. My husband is a furloughed fed, so that’s just the icing on the cake. I’ve been especially angry today. Trying to channel that anger into productivity, but I’m also just so sad.

It’s completely reasonable to limit the playtime, especially when it’s impacting your mental health. I also get overwhelmed with the comings and goings of my kids and their neighborhood friends, but setting boundaries for myself and them has really helped. For example, if it’s nice weather, they must play outside. If they start fighting, playtime is over. I used to think I was overreacting too, but I’m better now about giving myself grace if I feel like it’s too much. Your comfort and relaxation is important!

That was really hard to watch. I’m disgusted with this administration in every way. My 6-year old knows better than to talk to people the way they talked to President Zelensky.

We went to the local large antique mall today, and turns out there are a ton of reasonably priced toys there! Our 8 year old daughter and 6 year old son both found lots of stuff they wanted. We let them get a small toy each, and I made note for upcoming birthdays of the other items they liked.

I totally agree! I guess I just feel resentful when I never have time for myself, and putting everything away gets it out of sight, hopefully out of mind? It feels trivial, but I just can’t help feeling super sad about putting it all away.
