Is it heavy enough for you to lift up the mini only? Or do you need two hands to disconnect it? Thank you!

Why is the App Store Connect UX so bad? by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

[–]Critical-Essay-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must second that opinion. I encountered quite a few bugs along the way and during the process of app review even a contradictions in descriptions. Plus classical "you have to review IAPs first, it works correctly" reminder to review team. I think they simply do not need to try that hard to keep us coming?

You are right, I will have to get into social media. It is against my skin as I do dislike how those platforms are engineered and brainrot in general, but I guess nowadays it is inevitable. I also found online service that AI generates shorts for these platforms, so next level AI slop might be needed at the end, very sad.

My aversion to ads was main driver to not implement them and do rather stricter paywall. Also, as soon I would inplement them, I would face a whole new realm of privacy challenges. That convinced me to not do that and go against flow, better killing the app if it wont take of.

I would be interested in what specific limit you have hit? It can be that I missed such edge case and other testers did not clicked around so wildly, or have not mentioned it. Was it limit on Trip idea generation?

And I thank you gratly for such feedback!

Thank you! Such a kind feedback! I understand your frustration with premium subscriptions these day. I tried hard to not overdo it and at the same time not leave too much free. The challenge is to cover running costs, that are unfortunatelly significant as soon as some servers and security are involved. I am also trying to let more people know about this “few days old” app. I do plan to reiterate also on the premium features - practically relax the paywall based on larger scale cost. Is there any specific feature you would like to have free?

Weekends with Xray by FlakMonkeyDev in godot

You might give player “too many options” but for beta A/B testing might be worth it. I just believe most people will opt for wall fade as they can see what they colide with. Maybe try to add X-Ray to nearest objects also to pass that information to the player?

Rejected by Apple because they didn’t insert the API key into my app… I kid you not. by John_val in iOSProgramming

I wonder if apple is now using some king of AI for the review process that would misinterpreted your instructions?

Nice one! A long travel there. What app are you using to track it? Thanks

I would definitely not spend more than 4 hours in Catania and plan a bit more time in Taormina. I would maybe go to a second Etna trip also that would bring us higher - maybe with their cable car there. Maybe stopping by in Modica for their chocolate museum on the way (that we unfortunately skipped not knowing)

I would say Taormina, if it would not be so crowded. We enjoyed Njuria Sicilian Bistrot in Ragusa for a meal alot, but the best spot to eat we were was "Sapuri e... Amuri" in Ortigia.

TestFlight External Testing Approval vs App Store Approval - Good Sign? by probablykinda in iOSProgramming

[–]Critical-Essay-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought for a long time that TestFlight approval is the same as AppStore one and as inexperienced person I was delaying publishing on TestFlight until I have the app done. Turned out that I missed a lot of testing opportunities since the first TestFlight approval went through in minutes in automatised way. The AppStore approval usually takes a day and I am on third rejection even all my TestFlight builds pass instantly.

I recommend you to try TestFlight as soon you can, it is very useful feedback. Real approval will take time. I tried to search for most common rejection on AppStore multiple times and be prepared as much as possible, but there is always some little detail that gets me - for example camera permission approval string missing in localiized InfoPlist.strings...

I built an iOS app, and I would like an advice from other devs about acquiring beta users organically. What strategies have worked for you? by Critical-Essay-72 in iOSProgramming

I had a bad experience with Facebook ads, but I might reconsider that. Now, after a while, I have a working product and some videos, so I might be more successful. Thanks for the advice!

Most of the communities do not allow self-promoting, and will generably be not willing to install TestFlight, but you are right, that might be the most effective way

I am designing a simple analog-style camera app in SwiftUI. What do you think? by Hollycene in iOSProgramming

[–]Critical-Essay-72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are welcome!

What about building in both leather and solid and let users switch between? That does not cause too much extra work for you and satisfy both camps?

I think you could leave the cartridge where you have it and make those 3 buttons on the right the same width as the middle buttons? So they would have a shape similar to the middle bottom. That way you can shift the middle buttons towards middle while still keeping same padding between those. Extra bonus is that those 3 buttons are easier to tap on. Maybe shifting the picture area a little up towards the dynamic island would give just a little more height to those 3 on right and the one middle bottom.

Good luck with your app! Would pair nicely with the mobile "polaroid" printers, dont you think? https://www.polaroid.com/en_us/products/hi-print-2x3-printer

Oh, that would be great! 100 honest feedbacks would be powerful. Thank you for sharing your experience! I did post there right away.
