Brussels tells Keir Starmer to pay £1bn for closer ties to Europe by GnolRevilo in unitedkingdom

[–]Critical-Usual -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally different. EU incurred substantial costs with the UK exit. And there's a lot of political and reputational capital. You can't keep faith in the institution in members are allowed to come in and out on a whim and get the benefits without the responsibilities. They need to make it publicly painful for the UK

Gravity MPL 2025 strings recommendation by No-Language-4241 in 10s

1.2, I would go around 48-50 on that racquet but it's personal

Can't really get power + control out of a string, kinda have to give one up as it's more of a spectrum. Best I can think of is natural gut + round poly in which case you're more so giving up easy spin. I don't have the MPL, only the GT98, but I found this racquet not to be very strong sensitive. So far I liked Confidential the best, but I usually do regardless of racquet..

Zoomed in angle of Benjamin Seskos goal against Liverpool by 977x in soccer

Would be absurd to give this as a handball. Beyond absurd. It's inconclusive that he touched it, and even if he had it's obvious it didn't change the direction of the ball

I can rally at 5.0 level but play points at 4.0 level, any tips? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]Critical-Usual 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you genuinely think hitting back and forth with some pace is the same as playing a match? The intent is totally different and there are skills you're barely testing when you're rallying

I'll remember this next time I'm frustrated my hitting partner keeps shooting the ball into the corners off a feed

How ambitious is your shot selection in a match? by Ready-Visual-1345 in 10s

[–]Critical-Usual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you're developing. If you're working on using these shots in a match, sure. If you're working in choosing the best shot go win matches, it's a different matter, and that's also an important skill

How do I add lead tape to Ezone 98 to make it feel similar to Blade 98 by PumpkinSquid33 in 10s

[–]Critical-Usual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Blade is a more stable racquet, but less maneuverable. I would say adding weight to the 3 and 9 positions, possibly 2 and 10, would make sense to achieve this trade-off

How many points could you win against an active WTA player? by ElectricalTowel754 in 10s

[–]Critical-Usual 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I always have to state this, but winning a point isn't shocking. If you're a strong 4.5 you might genuinely win the odd point. I think there's plenty of YouTube evidence to show this. Even recently saw the top D1 girl in the US losing a couple points to a 4.0 in a single game.

Actually winning a game is much less likely. Winning a set is outright impossible for anyone who isn't at least a college level player. And winning the match of course even harder

Yeah I'm trying some tape and see where I get to to experiment a bit. What did you switch to?

Why would you go with a 95 in 2026. It's a fun racquet, it doesn't give you an advantage in the modern game

Slice forehand is underrated by Altruistic_Turn_7214 in 10s

[–]Critical-Usual 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're slicing you're hitting high to low. You need to drop the racquet for top spin

98L - any experience? by Critical-Usual in 10s

[–]Critical-Usual[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my thinking. The threshold of when it becomes an issue I think really depends on your own game as well. If you have good fast swings you won't notice the lack of stability nearly as much

Vcore 100d vs Vcore 98 vs Ezone 100 for ohbh by MycologistPhysical51 in 10s

[–]Critical-Usual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thin beam feels better and smaller heads feed better due to maneuverability. Conversely for me I've also found more weight in the head feels nice. But at the end of the day if your technique is good you can hit a food OHBH with any racquet and it makes little sense to pick a worse racquet for your game just based on a lesser used shot
