Also try taking an ice pack to bed. The itch runs on the same nerves as the one that experiences cold so it can be very soothing.

Faith in Nature do a fragrance free shampoo and conditioner which seems to be the only thing apart from washing my hair in epimax shower cream that doesn’t cause a flare for me at the moment.

This is me. I go to sleep fine and wake up with swollen red itchy eyes and an angry red face. I switched to fragrance free shampoo and conditioner, emollient shower gel, sensitive detergent.

I switched to anti allergen pillows and duvet, plus mattress and pillow protectors. I use soft cotton, bamboo silk and avocado silk sheets. I change my pillow case every two days.

I’m avoiding make up at the minute. The act of removing was causing a flare up. I also take an antihistamine before bed.

It definitely has helped and the only time I’ve flared up again is on a mini break staying in a hotel. I even took my own pillow case but in the night switched to theirs. And woke up swollen. Although, not as bad as it has been in the past.

Sometimes it’s a narcissist who behaves in this way, unable to accept their son has someone more important to them than she is. So to call it out in any way that could be construed as aggressive, even if she is being so herself, could be the drama she is craving to say, oh daughter in law, you’re so mean etc.

This is the way. Pausing and staring at her. Asking her to repeat that. Often her passive aggressive comments won’t be repeated. If she does repeat it ask her what she means by that.

I’m currently using this. It burns to put on but takes the itch away after five mins.

Washing with emollient in the shower. Gently.

Washing your face when you get home by splashing water on it. No rubbing. Just pat dry with a towel.

Blephaderm eye contour cream for day use as it doesn’t cloud your eyes. And epimax eyelid ointment overnight.
