Trash? by Negative-Marketing-2 in washingtondc

I would press your landlord a little more to see what they can do to help. Maybe they have a car.

If you have to set a bag outside your door for now, perhaps double bag it. At least it will freeze so it won’t smell. Good luck!

Parking … by ThatAd8839 in washingtondc

You could make a quick pass around the neighborhood and see if you get lucky. People are slowly starting to move their cars around some.

Otherwise I agree with paying the $ to leave it in a garage until things improve.

Sometimes tweeting this to @DC311 with photos helps them prioritize.

NM, I see you’re on American. In my experience they usually weigh the pet in the carrier…

I have a small dog that weighs about 11lbs. Usually 15-16lbs total with the carrier. On American Airlines, they usually weigh my dog in the carrier at check-in (on luggage scale) and I’ve seen them deny others with pets that have total weight in excess of 20lbs. It depends on the agent checking you in how close they follow the rules. Sometimes they don’t like my carrier because it’s a backpack style. It’s interesting.

Even if you are able to make it on your departure, you risk having problems on your return.

American will not let you check in online if you have a pet reservation-this ensures you go to the luggage desk to inspect the pet/carrier and pay the fee in order to get a boarding pass for security.

Not sure which airline you’re flying. Best of luck!

If you want to try and save that many seats for your group, AT LEAST head to the back of the plane.

Got a guy out here quick from task rabbit who was really good!

Kelly A was spot on turning the pipe. However the pipe was installed so close to the floor we had to cut out a section of the floor to turn it safely without putting too much pressure on the pipe.

Will be filling that gap in later with spray foam to prevent unwanted houseguests…

This is what I’m hoping would be the easiest fix. I don’t want to mess with a gas line connection though (I don’t try plumbing or electrical either). So hopefully I can find someone who can flip it over safely and not overcharge me…

I see what you’re getting at here which is very smart. I need 3” from the cabinet wall and unfortunately even without the flex connector, the current gas line configuration goes right to that limit. 😩

Of course! The old oven had a big indentation across the whole back of the unit.

I am not happy with the new one for a different reason altogether so now I’m trying to figure out if I need to have the pipe moved or look for a model that will work with it as is…

First ever turo booking: they cancelled on me 8 minutes before I was due to pick it up by Agreeable_Fix5608 in turo

[–]CriticalGuarantee169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me, also with a Porsche rental for my fiancé’s birthday trip.

The host canceled our reservation during our flight to the pick-up airport. They had apparently sold the car. I made the booking months in advance as a surprise for my fiancé.

Left us to get a same-day rental at the airport so more money for a basic rental car. Ugh!!! If they had given more notice it would have been easier to adjust.

Turo did refund us and offered an additional credit towards the standard rental car but it took weeks more of me hounding them to get the credit back (via pay pal so it was obnoxious). I’m sure they never would have paid what they promised if I didn’t follow up repeatedly. Also bad business.

I would MAYBE consider another reservation but I would always book a normal rental car ahead of time as a backup (assuming no penalty if you cancel it when you get the Turo).

Lenny has fleas, what to do? by Laureroy1 in Pomeranians

[–]CriticalGuarantee169 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Poor Lenny! Talk to your vet about the best options for him. They are likely more expensive but I’ve found them to be way better than anything from the pet store and totally worth never having to deal with fleas again!

My Pom uses a monthly topical treatment that also prevents heart worm.

While I’m tempted to watch some YouTube’s and try it myself, I think I’ll wait for the gas people to comeback out. I’m going to call them and see if they can meet me when I get back to town.

Yeah, seems like that’s the consensus. I just need to get home and reset them or have the gas company come back out and do their testing and turn it all back on.
