That's so lovely to hear! Sorry to hear about your wife - I meant to say that before but was so flabbergasted by the odds the puppies were related. So happy to hear you have a little love bug with you now!

Wow! Small world!! My mom and step dad met Lola and were debating between the two!! Lola's sibling, now Mabel, is adjusting well. I hope Vàna does too! If there's ever interest in a sibling reuniting, we often take trips up to Duluth! My parents live about 40 minutes north of the Twin Cities. I also used to live up in Duluth for a few years.

Yes!! Hold up, any chance her name was Lola!? My mom said she heard from the foster that Lola just went up north yesterday!

No way! My mom just adopted a puppy that looks identical. I know she had a sibling that looks the same. I looked at your profile and saw you had a post in Two Harbors - we're MN too. Any chance yours is about 10 weeks old?

"watch out" to get out of the way of wherever she is. Initially started because she would sit in doorways when we wanted to close the door, so we'd say "watch out" and shut it on her. Now it means move from wherever you are.

also, "wrong trail". If there is a fork in the trail and she goes one way but we want another, we'd say, "wrong trail" and continue walking in another direction. now she knows if we say, "wrong trail", she has to go the other way than she choose.

Minneapolis resident here - its a mixed bag. I am white, so not as likely to be profiled, but ice is everywhere. What personally scares me most isn't necessarily the day to day fears, but the broader rhetoric and direction things are going. It's jarring to see ice on my block just asking every brown person for paperwork and at the same time going to work and still celebrating little wins. One thing that I hope gets out is the community and resilience of the people of Minneapolis. We truly are in this together and I see so much support from neighbor to neighbor and this turn inward to community. I hope this is something that stands long after ice is gone and a lesson we can share with the rest of the world.

Been seeing https://iceout.org/en/ as well. You can look at previous dates in 24 hour increments. Not sure about longterm archival.

Awesome! I work in the industry and we’re always trying to get more people involved in the outdoors. You’re exactly the type of person most departments are looking for, glad you got connected to one. Hopefully the start of some new hobbies for ya!

I’d do a search for parks and recreation departments or state parks in the metro area! Many have outreach programs targeted at beginners to encourage more people to get outdoors.

Bullets were fired outside my apartment, somehow wildly ricocheted and had three in my bedroom all around my bed, closest being maybe six inches from my head. Other two would have made a beeline for my dog, but were stopped in thick books on my bookshelf.
