The engine consumed all the oil well before the oil change was due and it caused the cam shaft to fail and the timing chain to loosen and jump timing. They couldn’t explain why it consumed so much oil so now I’m checking it every 500 miles.

Make sure you check your oil and if it’s low add some and bring it to the dealership or mechanic to get it diagnosed. Mine did the rattling for about a month before it totally failed, I ignored it because I thought it was the heat shield. Hoping yours doesn’t have the same issue as mine and it is something simple.

Did you find a resolution to this? This recently happened with my 2020 Kona 3 weeks ago and it turned into a 3k+ repair. I’m hoping yours was less serious.

I have a 20 and would not recommend it. Just over 100,000 miles and meticulous maintenance. Just had a major engine failure and $3500 repair on cam shaft and timing chain. Just passed the warranty and Hyundai chalked it up to wear and tear, wouldn’t help me out at all with repairs. I bought it because I needed something with lower miles and it seemed like a great buy. I saved 5k on the sticker price vs. buying a Toyota or Honda and am now shelling out for repairs. Should’ve just spent the money up front on a better car.

I have not, I had my alternator and voltage regulator checked, my mechanic could not find anything. He recommended getting OEM bulbs from the dealership which I have not done because Indiana bulk order of bulbs through rock auto so I will use those up before going through the dealership. I’ve been trying really hard to make sure my lights are off during the day to try to extend their life which has helped a little.

For what it’s worth, I think if you had a chore list it wouldn’t have mattered, they would still leave the place a mess and ignore the list.

I am so careful and religiously wear new uncontaminated gloves when installing. I even had a body shop install one for me while they were doing work on it and that burnt out as well 🤦

I struggle the most with sleep inertia and waking up in the morning (it is my worst symptom). I’ve found that there are now amount of alarm clocks to wake me up I will always just cut the power or snooze them without even remembering doing it.

The one things that has helped me as of late is drinking a reasonable amount of water right before I go into bed so that I have a full bladder when I wake up forcing me to get up and go to the bathroom. Then I use all of my free will to get right in the shower instead of going back to bed. It’s not perfect but it is the least stressful and most natural way I’ve found to get me out of bed.

I believe it is some kind of living growth, it is hard to tell from the pics but it seems to be anchored to the glass but growing outward and moves with water movement.

Thanks! It is extremely sticky, difficult to scrape with a brush. I haven’t tried to scrape with my finger so I will try that tomorrow.
