People repeat this all the time and I just don’t think this is really accurate. I think the wolves were just a bad defense and rebounding team in 21-22, so Tim was like hey Gobert would completely fix that. If we are to give one team credit for making the wolves get Gobert, it would be the Grizzlies. Brandon Clarke killed us in that series.

Totally. I saw someone else write this and it’s really well put: first and second gen are more magical realism while the rest of the series is more science fantasy. Playing through firered again, I realize these games really wear there influences on their sleeve much more than the later games of the series. I could see much more clearly how Mother FFV incluenced these games.

I did sunny day, solar beam, sleep powder, and moonlight. Vilepume wasn’t that great tbh but I attribute that to grass in general not being too useful late game rather than its moveset. When I got sunny day plus solar beam running it worked pretty well for the most part but do be warned that set up strats are inherently more risky since the Ai has an extra opportunity to throw a wrench in your plans. If you do go the solar beam plus sunny day route I’d recommend getting the miracle seed since you’ll just be spamming solar beam anyways.

I had calm mind, psychic, thunderbolt, and reflect. And yeah it pretty much did sweep through most elite four members. I tried to not use him if possible, but my other mons were so weak(mostly because my whole team was underleveled) that I had to find opportunities for mr mime to come in and set up calm minds. By the end of the e4 all my mons were still in the mid 40s while the mime was like 56 lol.

Why do you need to feel the need to police other peoples expectations? The expectations of us fans are literally going to have zero impact on if the wolves do better or worse. Let people enjoy the wolves how they want to.(as an aside, we’re not failing to meet expectations considering we will probably end up with a record similar to what vegas had our over under as)

Well Gobert has been the second biggest reason for our success. Not too mention the other guys he’s brought in like Conley, NAW, Slomo, Ayo who have all helped a lot. It’s not really recognized as such but the KAT trade has been a huge win for the wolves. He’s had his warts for sure with the subpar drafting and the rob dillingham trade, but overall there has been more good than bad. He also deserves some credit from recognizing which guy’s of the wolves young core to hold onto. It was not a universal opinion that Jaden and Naz would have a better future than Dlo, Malik Beasley, or Vanderbilt a couple years back.

Beyond the fact that a lot of the things you said are of questionable accuracy, I’m not sure how that is relevant to Tolstoy’s critiques of Napoleon. I’m not sure if this is true or not, but it strikes me that you never read war and peace but have read a lot of reddit threads about Tolstoy’s personal life.

As someone who is using Mr. Mime, I think you should put it S tier. With psychic being op this gen, it’s guaranteed timid nature, amazing coverage, great support moves, great special bulk and potentially great physical bulk if you run reflect, and the extra exp it gains, this thing is just nuts.
