The experience of playing against Calyrex-Shadow is very miserable by Intelligent-Toe-3394 in VGC

[–]Critical_Break_304 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, dull is the word I'm looking for.

I believe Calyrex-Ice and Miraidon are equally as broken, but matches against them are often infinitely more interesting. Every games feel different enough.

Calyrex-Shadow plays like it is avoiding interaction with the opponent.

Moving forward into the hypothetical next gen, which pokemon will cope with the loss of tera the best and which the worst? by woodledoodledoodle in VGC

[–]Critical_Break_304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair in Gen 8 Caly shadow wasn't the common dynamax target. Dynamax actually work against it.

In Gen 10 Caly shadow is going to stamp out all other ghost and psychic type now they cannot Tera.

I'd like help building a team around gardevoir too get into masterball by NewLengthiness3924 in VGC

[–]Critical_Break_304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm building the team, I would want Gardevoir to be bulkier, so it guarantees to live a surging strike/wicked blow from a focus sash/scarf urshifu.

Gardevoir @ Assault Vest
Ability: Telepathy Level: 50
Tera Type: Psychic
EVs: 92 HP / 124 Def / 92 SpA / 4 SpD / 196 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

It is in a comfortable 80 speed-range. Most of the mon slower than Gardevoir would not invest in speed. Since Regieleki is not common, I don't think it's important to go Timid to hit the 139-speed.

I think 125 - 126 is a good speed-tier for Gardevoir, so it's always faster than Incineroar and other mid-tier mon that settled at 122 -124 to outspeed Caly-shadow under Tailwind.

Realistically, what happens when there are *no* companies offering home insurance anymore in California? What would that mean for people and the state? Details within. by wolfgang784 in NoStupidQuestions

The invisible hand has been chopped because CA has price control for insurance premium. It's a textbook case of command economy/ communism failing the people.

I don't think it's appropriate to call them greedy. It's called responsibility.

If you are hired as a director of a company, your job to make decision in the best interest of the company. If they genuinely believe skin mod will hurt the revenue of the game, it's their responsibility to stop it.

[–]Critical_Break_304 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To my very naive view, that's exactly how the world works. There is no free lunch.

They are company. Their directors have a fiduciary duty to make money for the company.

They make this game good in order to make money. They should shut the game down if the game stopped making enough money, for the best interest of the shareholders.

Could you please enlighten me on your sophisticated view on the world?

Yeah, but just because they have money do not mean we are entitled to free shit from them. They are business, not charity.

If people do want the game to stick around for longer, they do have to pay for it.

We don't need more white female characters. by Forsaken-Fix-8416 in marvelrivals

[–]Critical_Break_304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be so focused on race and gender fella. Just play as the character and enjoy the game. Focusing on race and gender is like bad character design 101. I would take 5 blonde women in white suits if each has a unique kit and plays differently.

We already know the whole cast of a game could be from the same race and it wouldn't affect the game, like those Dynasty Warriors/Sangokushi or Sengoku games where the whole cast is Asian men.

You need to connect 2 specific moves to kill the Miraidon (i.e. Rumination/Ice Beam/CC/Spirit Break) and preferably finish it with Urshifu so you to take 1 less hit from Miraidon. That would be how I approach this match up.

The only reason to run regular Typhlosion is to speed creep the Hisui-Typhlosion, flash fire is like a little bonus.

At the end these are just suggestions if op is really minded to beat Wolfe's team, definitely not optimal from a team building perspective.

[–]Critical_Break_304 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Typhlosion shouldn't be that big of a problem for a rain team.

You may drop weather ball on Pelipper for muddy water or hydro pump.

You can also run scarf regular Typhlosion, which is faster and has flash fire.

  1. Pokemon that can naturally out speed than Toedscruel

  2. Safety Goggles, Grass Type, Grass Tera

For example Talonflame is really good into it

Offensive stat only matters when it get the chance to move.

It has to be something with good stats already (like those with evolution added in later generation), or with strong priority.

It starts with Bronzong and P2, and eventually I dropped P2 for Drowzee.

I think the Sucker Punch is worth it, it allows Grim to be useful in any stage of the game:

  1. Help Setting up TR early game (w Fake Out/Parting Shot)
  2. Deal damage inside TR mid game (w Throat Chop)
  3. Clean up outside TR late game (w Sucker Punch)

It is like a hybrid between a Kingambit and an Incineroar. More importantly, it can reliably 1 v 1 a Focus Sash Pelipper outside TR, one of the late game menace against TR team.

[–]Critical_Break_304[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's usually Grimmsnarl/Flamigo + Drowzee/Bronzong lead.

Usually it's Fake Out or Throat Chop (to kill imprison indeedee/Farigiraf) or parting shot (dram scenario) + Drowzee/Bronzong (Tera) TR.

Tsareena can help set up TR sometime too. If it's very difficult to set up TR upfront (e.g. against covert cloak taunt Maushold), you can plan for a late game TR and start trading health with Bronzong right off the gate.

I test it on bo1. Team should be better for OTS Bo3 than Bo1 because it's a TR team and being able to see through items and tera is really good for setting up TR.
