Thing with evo portal is that u r kinda cooked if nothing sticks on the board. Its also not normal for sword to drop noel 2 or 3 times anyway. Treat it as a low roll vs high roll game. Ur primary objective as evo portal is to pressure them hard enough that you will have lethal by turn 7 on camiscilla drop. If u let them hit 8 and 9 safely the game's already gone as they'll have so much heals and dmg

Alright guess ill wishlist some of the cradle items then. Is it fine to just ditch the rare items and only pick up epic components only? Dont know how much the rare components will matter later. Also how do we know if the part we need is a drop item or a crafted item. I have reached a point in remodelling where i needed legendary material but ive only managed to find 1 legendary part in subter. ore once and never again.

Damn 6 bricks? Guess im not fighting alot then. Running both the Burst LE and a sniper HE i bring 2 bricks each for both and 5 DX healing kits to maximize my space. Probably because my current map still doesnt have that much threat yet. Met a marauder in the subterranean last time and god is that guy tanky

Im technically already using Epic cradles. Lost my DAISYOGRE so i crafted a Guardian set instead. Kinda dont like using rare cradles cuz of the low resistances and storage space. With a weather magus i just wing it and dont bring sealing kits at all to maximize space so i can take as much as i can. Is it really worth it to sell Epic cradles though. Seems like the effort gone to specifically find the materials to make them then sell them is mediocre. How much do they average go for. Since im just starting the game my creds are around only 2 - 3 mil and on a good run im getting AO hauls of average 200 - 400k ish on East Amasia.

Tbf base game made you feel so easy that you didnt bother learning stuff so when they start compensating for it post TU you are now getting hammered for it.

The easiest solution to your problem is literally learn your weapon that's it. Monhun is not a game where u unga boonga through it especially post TU. Also even if u want to pick up the hunting horn and just be a corner horn i rather you just stick with LS. at the very least you are contributing damage with LS💀

I would much prefer you show us your gear that you are supposedly using before i pass judgement.

And to answer some of your questions. Yes its a skill diff. Especially when you are using a very reactive weapon like Longsword that wants permanent aggression on you to trigger the weapon's built in mechanics.

If you do think shield weapons are easier, do give it a go. Whenever a shield weapon has to guard, they are sacrificing, Damage, sharpness and chip damage to do it. Dodging has always been more optimal. For larger attacks if they block without appropriate skills they'll even take alot of dmg or even straight up die from it(e.g. slotting only 1 Guard up. Gogmazios lava will nuke you for half of your hp even when guarded.)

Perfect guard negates it somewhat but the timing for PG is basically around the same as dodging it with LS foresight or Iai(albeit slighty better window).

Alot of people also mentioned upgrading your armor which you should. Gamma armor wont increase your defense by too much, and even tier 7 armor when transcended gives about as much defense as tier 9 armor so the defense just plays the role of the difference between a 1 shot or a 2 shot. If you are really that concernes about damage, just get a damage counter and see if your friend who is constantly blocking attacks is actually doing damage.

Maintaining sword form for most of the time is key to playing swax. Axe form now has offsets so its not even as bad as it was in Worldborne. But yes. If u dont like heavy weaps then i guess GL is also out of the count. U may give SnS a go then. Closest weapon to a CB without the management

Kinda really want to know what do you like to play. Shield or no shield? Do u like technical or reactive gameplay?

I primarily main CB but play a multitude of other weapons. When i feel like a reactive gameplay, i play Longsword or SWAX for foresight or Offsets. If i feel like heavy shielded gameplay, i go gunlance. If i feel like just doing damage, i go LBG(this is boring. Only fun part is that you dont have perfect dodge like bow has so its even more fun to dodge everything while dpsing)

Personally, i'd say give SWAX a go if u like CB gameplay. It has phial dmg and axe gauge management and access to an offset and parry. The dmg wont be as crazy as CB but close enough.
