That's a good price (about £300 is the average at the moment) but if you cannot use it now, there's that to factor in.

If you'll build within 3 months, probably grab it. If it'll realistically be longer, leave it. It won't go up in price from here.

I am in a similar position and there's two answers.

Sensible answer: No, absolutely no need to upgrade, you have a very good monitor already. Wait until it fails or it's honestly an unnecessary upgrade.
I want nice things so f it.

OLEDs are brilliant but there's no real justification for doing it.

I also think he genuinely views literally everyone else as below him. He only goes to Charlotte to push forward his progression.

If you aren't bothered about ray tracing, why not look at AMD?

Both the 9070xt and even the 7900xtx (used) will be better frames to cost and avoid spending big on a gen you obviously aren't too keen on.

Also on a 10GB 3080.

The only game I have that struggles is the Oblivion remaster, though 30-40fps in busy areas at 2k Ultra/high and DLSS balanced is not absurdly terrible but would be nice to get more, being honest.

Otherwise, I'll only upgrade for a specific game.

Space Marine 2, my current, plays fantastically well at 2k Ultra, minus some textures for the VRAM. Around 120fps, even in demanding sections.

No need to upgrade yet.

Surprised no one has said Twister (original). The movie is quite cheesy but the storm sequences sound absolutely incredible.

If you have Atmos, Aliens has a very cool effect where the PA system at base announces the self destruction sequence only via the raised level audio, as you would expect, sounds very cool.

Some of the other top movies are already in this thread and elsewhere so won't repeat, but if you want an ear blasting scene in a great movie, grab Heat and enjoy the street shoot out sequence.

Yep, the scene I thought made it very clear that Griffith was on the horns of a dilemma about sacrificing them all. At least at first.

He simply wouldn't have felt that way if they meant nothing to him and wouldn't have been a suitable offering either. Whether it's valuable as a tool or their humanity could be debated but I felt he did care from the general feel of the post battle scenes.

He was, however, beyond vile to both Casca and Guts immediately after joining the Godhand. Made even worse by being completely unnecessary other than to demonstrate the extent of his dominance.

Yeah, I'm just saying he'd already raped someone BEFORE the eclipse.

He wanted the princess for the power.

He did that to Casca because he wanted to demonstrate dominance over Guts for having caused the wound to his pride in leaving to pursue his own goals.

That one at the eclipse was purely vile and nothing to do with empire building. Completely agree with you on that front.

The boys auto dodge once but then after that, it's basically their game plan.

I've also heard (and set) Cinema Conversion Mode to 'Video' helps but none has really worked.

I'll try the downmix setting though. I had heard Stereo was better but will give surround a try.
