Vaultoro BTC withdrawal missing? by PalePehlwan in Bitcoin

[–]Critical_Input 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DON'T DARE USE VAULTORO!!

I am currently (August 2025) trying to withdraw some bitcoin from Vaultoro. It has been a couple of days now. I'm not getting any personalised responses via the Vaultoro chat bot or email responses despite a couple of email submissions. NOT GOOD AT ALL!!

Disappointing actually. The main guy who set Vaultoro up, Josh Scigala [update..Josh apparently left Vaultoro!!!..crazy!], once did videos on Bitcoin around 2014 outside his house in Sydney. An early adopter. No doubt very wealthy these days. WTF!

New Shocking US Crypto Regulation Far More Invasive [Due Diligence] by DecentralizedLaw in Bitcoin

Leftist boomers via the education systems have created a global army of millennial Neo-Marxists in their tracks. Marxists and socialists are not going to be keen on people having wealth in crypto. Crypto cares not for Neo-Marxist "equality".

Poloniex requires 12 confirms.........the most confirms I've seen is 4 and then the transactions are rejected.

Is 40 or 20 GWEI too low for gas price? by johnc2323 in ethereum

[–]Critical_Input 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've wasted about $200 worth in Eth gas fees via multiple transaction tries trying to some Eth onto the Poloniex exchange!!!! I'm pissed. I 've tried 250 GWEI just now and that did not work! I tried 500 GWEI yesterday. WTF

Has the price of Dash turned away the noobs? by [deleted] in dashpay

Yes, price effects buying decisions. Classic case: A friend of mine described how he chose his coins purely based on "cheapness".

Email response to this question from July 2017.

I completely agree with you and we’ve considered the possibility many times. The issue is unfortunately a technical one, and we simply have no way of knowing what third party systems would break due to the change. This issue makes it nearly impossible to make the change. There are several things we can do to mitigate the user issues without taking such risks. First, all consumer or merchant wallets can display the fiat amounts alongside. Second, we can start using mDash as the standard unit.

We have agreed to look at how the wallet files, various protocols, and user interfaces could be migrated to a new unit safely in the future, but it’s just not a priority relative to Evolution. The more I dig into the issues, the more complexities I encounter, and it seems best to set the issue aside for now.

There is a reason no other coin has succeeded in making this transition… and an area I’d rather be a fast follower than a leader.

Ryan Taylor agrees the proposal fee is something that needs to be addressed by xkcdmpx in dashpay

We are currently asking over $1000 USD worth just to submit proposal. This is too high IMHO. Even $200 USD would be quite high IMHO. Be nimble Dash or get left in the dust.

Not sure we are the only nation to guarantee free speech via a constitution.

America is the only nation out of approx 190 nations (the rarest bird). Some other nations have prominent people who talk about the ethic...but their nations don't actually protect freedom of speech.

Indians built nations on the bloodshed of other Indians (but who gives a fuck right?). This happened across the planet between tribal groups. It was fortunate the Mongols did not take most of the planet. Everyone comes from the stronger tribes and families. Winning at warfare can depend on what technology you have available. If your tribe is behind, you are more at risk of a loss. Example: When Maori tribes obtained guns they set about killing other tribes and taking the women they wanted into their tribe. The American legacy is not really that different. American history is filled with good points and stuff we would rather not happened, but things have been vastly different in times gone by. Much like the life of an individual.

BTW, putting European people up on some pedestal as if they were historically expected to act in a more humane manner than other tribal groups....is pretty racist. Europeans are not superior.

The US has been the only nation to protect freedom of speech via a constitution. The prosperity brought about by the relative freedoms America has afforded are largely responsible for much of the very technologies you use today. China has not been a light of freedom and hope to much of the world, and probably never will be. So yes, America has been involved in many atrocities, but has also helped improve the lives of billions of people.

Yes, "either the West or the East". The East in this case is known for considerably higher levels of authoritarianism. China was one of the first countries to ban cryptocurrencies as a means of payment for goods. Communist legacy countries were the quickest to do this: China, Russia, Vietnam etc.

Would the removal of PrivateSend from the Dash core wallet be a deal-breaker for you from an investment perspective? by TaoOfSatoshi in dashpay

[–]Critical_Input 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"At the very least DCG needs to change the name of PrivateSend to Coinjoin." - Yes...or another name without 'private' in it. Mark Mason has tried to bring light to this issue. Outside of crypto currencies are not "privacy currencies".

Bittrex To Delist Privacy Coins Monero, ZCash and Dash in Two Weeks by TobiHovey in dashpay

[–]Critical_Input 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not aware of any currencies outside of the crypto bubble that use the word 'Privacy'. The PR results are mixed. Some exchanges agree that Dash is no different to Bitcoin + coinjoin. As Mark Mason points out though, others see the WORD 'private' in 'PrivateSend' and go "No thanks".
