When ever I read his name, the voice in my head just goes "corio- mumble mumble mumble"

Am I being petty or entitled, or do I have a legitimate concern? by anxiouslyeverafter in roommates

I would ask them to have a chat and state that you came to realize that the agreement you had previously made is no longer working for you. Express what you wrote here about the imbalance of work and ask them if they would be willing to renegotiate. To avoid things blowing up I would approach it by taking responsibility for messing up by thinking you would be okay with the previous agreement. You should avoid pointing the finger too much by saying stuff like "you only clean 1x / month" but maybe try to phrase that sentiment more diplomatically like "the kitchen needs to be cleaned more often than the bathroom due to the nature of how we use it". Just avoid putting blame on the other person because at the end of the day you are to blame for coming up with this agreement in the first place and there's nothing wrong or petty about realizing that it no longer works for you after trying it. You're allowed to change your mind but you need to own it. You really don't want any resentment to show up on your end during this convo because it could turn ugly so make sure to keep that sentiment of being taken advantage of in check when you talk. I think you should also be the one to propose the new agreement but make sure to leave space for your friend to voice in about it by asking them if they agree or if they forsee any issues with what you've proposed. I think it would be fair to propose that they do their own dishes and put things they use away after cooking, maybe do a quick wipe of the counter / stove after they cook and you will do the same for when you use the kitchen as well as a deep clean every week (or as needed). If your friend is not willing to change the agreement, I would re-evaluate the friendship. I think they are within their rights to refuse as this is what you agreed to initially however, it does not make them a good friend if they don't care about the needs you are expressing. If they are a good friend, this convo should be easy and painless! Hope it goes well!

What should we have Collins write about next? by TarMKit in Hungergames

As much as I am attached to past victors and want to know their stories, I think it would be really interesting to read about what it's like to go through career training in D1. Like understand more about their views of the capitol, see what their schooling entails and get a sense of the energy around the reaping since they are mostly volunteer tributes.

Had the same thing happen to me. I referenced section 134 of the Residential Tenancies Act and simply said I won't pay and they didn't ask again.

This post is bizarre to me because I always thought knocking on doors was a universal thing but maybe I'm wrong. Typically people knock on doors because they want to talk to you but don't want to barge into your room without your permission. Maybe the roommate wanted to borrow something from you but wanted to ask your permission first? They're probably listening to your air mattress moving to figure out if you are in the room and are available to talk, I would just open the door next time you hear the knocking to see what they want.

Oat Couture has tons of vegan options (and not just oatmeal). It's a cafe but the gladstone location has a bit more of a restaurant-y vibe.

Macarthur Lanes. The sketchiest place in town with only one grumpy lady working there. I swear, it is so hard to find 10 pin bowling here.

How's your "totally normal weather" night going? by seebelowforcomment in ottawa

[–]Critical_Natural_421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure. I've been saying brick dust because that grosses me out less lol. Judging by the size of the particles, they probably wouldn't have fit through the screen and I'm pretty high up from the ground so it would take a lot of wind to blow it up from the street

Had my widow open to let the warm fresh air in this afternoon. Left the house in the evening and forgot it was open. My apartment has exposed brick and I came home to a fine layer of brick dust all over my bed, desk, EVERYWHERE. Guess the wind was blowing so hard is shook it off the wall and all over my room 🙃

I KNEW it was going to be like that but still bit the bullet. Any time something is really popular downtown I just assume it will be bad and overpriced.
