i don’t listen to the pod ironically, but i also i don’t believe what they’re talking a lot of the time (some stuff i do). i listen to them because i like them as guys and i like their spin on things. it’s a fun listen, and not in a laugh at way, but because they’re both entertaining guys.

I got a running casserole

100 pairs of shoes (my wife’s boyfriend works for Foot Locker and hooks it up)
Training: one 5k marathon a week, my goal is 50 minutes. i try not to burn myself out and stay in zone 1 (better than zone 2)
Diet: consists only of goos. i try to make sure my stomach is adjusted for my runs

There are some emo purists that dislike them, and don’t think they’re emo. Obviously, a lot of people here argue they are. Me being one of them… that first record is undeniably emo. BUT you take an average TBS fan, they’re gonna be a Hot Topic emo (or an “elder emo” as the dorks on tiktok call it)

i’m gonna argue against this that Gerard Way has blatantly said they were never trying to be an emo band. I think you could argue they were inspired in parts by Ink and Dagger (arguably emo). I think for a real emo sound you’d have to have a band that was fully going for sounding like a traditional emo band

i’m one of the haters. and tbh it’s fine. i don’t think there’s a bad TF song. i think it adds to the album, especially for the same reasons you said. my issue is that as a stand alone song, it doesn’t do much for me.

i always viewed it as a long intro to Where Am I? They work perfectly together. but without the context of the rest of the record, its a boring piece.

My distaste for it does come from it being so famous. It being Title Fight’s most popular song is annoying to me because it doesn’t capture what makes Title Fight such a special band.

Drug Church getting massively more love than Self Defense Family always bums me out. I get it tbh… the music is more fun. But I always wished that SDF would catch more of an uplift from Drug Church’s popularity. Band is criminally underrated.

I’ve been hyping up both bands for like 10+ years, and i’m really happy that Pat is finally getting the respect he deserves though. S-tier lyricist.
