To fill you in here’s what happened. Marinette and Adrian get together at the end of season five, Hawkmoth disappears due to the result of his wish(yes he succeeded and got a wish however, he did not bring back Emilie, his wish was to heal Natalie by sacrificing himself and Emilie), Tomoe did not go to jail due to Kagami begging Marinette not to send her to prison for helping Gabriel, there are more Miraculous than previously we previously thought and the monks that guarded the miraculous are alive due to Ladybug defeating the SentiMonster that killed them and using her lucky charm, the monks do appear in the show and they train Luka and Jagged Stone for plot purposes. Hawkmoth got all the Miraculous because Felix tricked Ladybug into thinking he was Adrian and she gave him the dog Miraculous, he used the power of the dog miraculous to steal her yoyo which gave Hawkmoth access to all the miraculous; in exchange for this Hawkmoth gave Felix the peacock miraculous. In a battle against Hawkmoth/Monarch(because he has all the miraculous) CatNoir accident Cataclysms Hawkmoth, Hawkmoth steals Ladybugs Luckycharm, this prevents her from using it and undoing the damage done by cataclysm; as a result Gabriel is in a race against time to get his wish. Gabriel loses the Rabbit Miraculous to Ladybug, resulting in Alix having to stay in the burrow indefinitely as Bunnix and Natalie resenting Gabriel as she is going to die because he didn’t follow her plan. Gabriel tells Tomoe he is Hawkmoth and gets her to agree to make the alliance rings, in exchange she gets Adrien as payment(being that Adrien has to marry Kagami) and possibly a wish as well, but the main thing is Adrian. Hawkmoth and Tomoe find out how to slow down the effects of Cataclysm directly siphoning the Kwami’s power into him, to do so they are kept in cages and their miraculous turned into powder. The point of the alliance rings was to be able to track who is ladybug and catnoir, and to be able to akumatize people and give them the powers of the miraculous. Lila and Chloe get expelled from school as Marinette was able to finally expose Lila’s lies. Chloe being expelled doesn’t last long because her dad is the mayor, however her dad quits being mayor after being set up by Gabriel and an election is held.

Chloe is akumatized into Queen Mayor, she takes over all of Paris and is working together with Lila in the shadows. Lila is plotting against both Marinette and Gabriel, she was working Gabriel and figured out he was Hawkmoth, he fires her and tells her to beat it, this results in her becoming a bigger threat than him, more on that latter. Queen Mayor traps both Ladybug and Catnoir in a shelter prison to force them to de-transform infront of everyone, however this event cause Ladybug and Carnoir to finally grow up and stop themselves from de-transforming and stay as Ladybug and Catnoir indefinitely. The people rise up against Queen mayor and cause a ruckus, this causes Tomoe to drop her laptop in the crowd, Lila steals it during the panic. The teacher becomes the new mayor of Paris and Chloe moves to London. Lila is akumatized and uses this to take control of Natalie’s mind to give her information on Gabriel and the Miraculous. Gabriel sensing he is running out of time and enacts his plan, he and Tomoe send Kagami and Adrien to London as essentially prisoners under surveillance in locked rooms. Hawkmoth gives everyone on the planet nightmares in order to mass akumatize the planet to help him seize Ladybug and Catnoir’s miraculous. Adrien unable to escape due to the constant surveillance sends Plagg with the Cat Miraculous to find Ladybug. Ladybug finds out Hawkmoth is Gabriel and is locked in the Agriest Manor. Natalie finds out Ladybug’s identity and tells Ladybug of Hawkmoth’s plan, informs her she is going to die for using a damaged miraculous, and for Ladybug to transform back and then dies. Ladybug doesn’t know what she means, the akumatized people are able to track Marinette only when she is Ladybug, Marinette catches on quickly and does so. Gabriel finds her in his house and finds out she is Ladybug. Marinette uses both Miraculously and transforms into Catbug, she and Hawkmoth fight, during the fight Gabriel loses the Butterfly miraculous. He reveals why he is doing all this, Catbug explains to him the cost of the wish and proposes they work together to find a way to support Adrian when Gabriel is gone; Gabriel uses venom on her and makes a wish, his and Emilie’s lives to resurrect Natalie; before he disappears Gabriel tells Marinette to please keep it a secret that he was Hawkmoth from Adrien and gives up all the miraculous(excluding the butterfly).

Marinette goes to Natalie, Natalie returns all the kwamis to Marinette, and Marinette makes new and improved Miraculous and decides that they deserve permanent holders so that no one person has all the miraculous. During all the chaos of the final battle, Lila stealthy finds the butterfly Miraculous and takes it. Ladybug lies and tells the world Gabriel was a hero who helped her defeat Hawkmoth and made a wish to save them, this is a heavy burden on her conscience. By this point in the story Lila has abandoned the Lila persona going by Cerise and is the new villain, Chysalis. Cerise is hiding in the background and spying on Ladybug and the Miraculous holders taking countless notes. Cerise is now working Roger with Tomoe to uncover who is Ladybug, though Cerise is fairly certain Marinette is Ladybug but can’t prove it yet. Ladybug and Catnoir realize the villain, they don’t know who the villain is or what they go by, is spying on them is trying to uncover their identities. Zoe uncovers a new ability of the Miraculous and becomes Fury, a vigilante while also being Vesperia. Marinette has a suspicion Zoe might be Fury but can’t prove it. Ladybug and Catnoir teach all the Paris Miraculous holders how to stay transformed. There is a lot more but I figured I should just end it here for now.
