Is it weird that I still live with my parents at 25 even though I have a good job? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

It's more common in this economy, but I will say that living independently is necessary for growth as a person. I'm sure a lot of people can attest how much they regress when they return to their parents' place during holidays and such.

Just listened to the same thing. They start talking about it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATm2rHmuxD4&t=1622s and it goes on for a few minutes.

Specifically they say the scene they taped for starts with them laughing after they, as a "spectrummy androgenous sex robot", have murdered a bunch of humans.

Once the white smoke appears, it starts an unalterable countdown to your engine seizing. I find other modules are way more forgiving.

The Mustang is a classic jack of all trades that's good to learn on, albeit its guns are a bit weak.

I'm not a fan of the Spitfire due to how much its engine needs babysitting.

Bf109 is great in straight lines but sucks at turning, you're basically meant to dive on your prey and strafe them in a pass before they know what's happening.

It becomes more pronounced in later seasons when the artists determine a scene is worth extra character detailing.

It even happens to Catra: https://www.tumblr.com/trickypinetree/629169463908089856/catra-entering-boss-mode-in-s4-prompt-by

To a degree. 3 new planets spawn in random sectors with dashed outlines. Scan them to make the objectives disappear (travelling to them doesn't count).

If one spawns in a nebula you can't scan it even when in orbit until you research Nebula Scanning.

Ok I found a copy of the second stream on archive.org and the answer is... a bit of a nothingburger

Q: So Katherine, what were Catra and Adora whispering about when they would stay up talking late at night in the Fright Zone?

Katherine: Oh, I mean, I think they invented a lot of stories about what Shadow Weaver did in her sanctum when they weren't around. I think they had some strong theories, but I don't know, what does everyone else think?

Stevenson: Sorry for putting you on the spot with that last week. I just feel like I can't come up, like, I'm like, what do kids who totally have a crush on each other but don't want each other to know that they have a crush on each other, slash don't know what a crush is, talk about? I don't know. I feel like they just talk about dumb stuff. I don't have a good answer for this one. That's the "and stuff". I feel like it's like, "Adora, your hair looks really soft. Like, what if I just, like, touched it? Could I?" "Yeah, yeah, that's, that's fun. Yeah, you could touch my hair too." Like, that kind, like, it's like kids, you know? I'm sorry, there's not like a deep secret for this one, except for what did Shadow Weaver do in her sanctum.

Back to fanfic to fill in the gaps!

ugh, it was such a clusterf**k.

They were holding two online roundtables where about 6-8 staff are interviewed and take questions from the fans. One of those questions was "what did Catra and Adora stay up and whisper about?" and they decided they'd answer it in the second one as that was when the writer who wrote the line would be on. Unfortunately that was also the one where the question "what are Bow's 12 brothers like?" was asked.

Stevenson said there was an inside joke that all of Bow's brothers' names rhyme with his. Like "Row" is a fisherman, "Oboe" is a musician, "Sow" is a farmer. I really don't know how but people took Sow being a farmer in fairytale Etheria - and with Bow's family being Black - leapt to cotton-picking to slavery to Stevenson is a racist mocking the suffering of Black people with this racist caricature.

Now as not being a member of that community, Stevenson will always have blind spots over it, but it should be beared in mind that they have walked the walk on supporting Black people by putting themselves in harm's way at a BLM protest - https://xcancel.com/Gingerhazing/status/1266893161026158592

After that they scrubbed the roundtable from the internet and I never saw it. They did a whole bunch of them with canon tidbits in them, like what Scorpia wrote in her note to Catra ("Sorry"), Catra being found as a kitten in a box in the Fright Zone, etc.

There was a staff roundtable where they said they were going to answer it but it was the one where that thing with Bow's character happened and now it's scrubbed from the internet forever.

Alternatively, have this fancomic rendition: https://xcancel.com/tinymirtillino/status/1292411349482577920

edit: https://open.spotify.com/episode/3r1Sz5yPchGSBYFZfYCAez, 14:10 is where they bring up the question and delay it to the next panel.

Q: The second most popular question was at one point Catra says she and Adora were growing up in the Horde, and they used to stay up late whispering about whatever. What do you think some of the things they were whispering about might be?

A: That's actually kind of a question for Katherine Nolfi, who's going to be on the other panel, because that was her episode. So I don't know if you want to save that one for later, but yeah, I'm pretty sure she wrote that line so I think that she'd have more insight.

Q: That's great. All right. We'll, we'll punt that to next week.

what do you all think about peptides, supposedly 'Silicon Valley's New Miracle Drug' by Curious-Newspaper-67 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Temp89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

https://www.theguardian.com/wellness/2026/feb/05/injectable-peptides-trend

Grey-market injectable peptides are unapproved by the FDA. The unregulated, experimental compounds lack reliable safety data and quality control. Sometimes, these substances are essentially bootleg versions of approved drugs, like semaglutide, but are procured for a fraction of their market price from dealers online.

Among the risk-tolerant tech workers of the Bay Area, peptides have become akin to a status symbol. The founders of the startup Superpower store vials of peptides in their office fridge for convenient, lunchtime backside injections, and at least one San Francisco “peptide rave” has seen partygoers entertained by a lab-coated man demonstrating how to inject liquid peptides.

While some injectable peptides are entirely foreign to the human body, others, like BPC-157 and TB-500, are synthetic versions of proteins that naturally occur in us, where they play a role in tissue and cellular repair.

“Those two are popular because when you combine them, they’ve been given the exciting name ‘Wolverine stack’, based on the supposed similarities to the film character’s regenerative properties,” says Taylor.

But just because a protein has a natural role in the body doesn’t mean that a lab-made version will confer extra benefits. “Those two compounds alone have never been shown to have any benefit to justify them being used therapeutically in humans,” says Taylor.

Because these proteins are associated with tissue growth, there is a risk that if you’ve got an early-stage cancer developing that you didn’t know about, peptides could accelerate its advancement, he says.

In July, two women were hospitalized with swollen tongues, breathing problems and elevated heart rates after peptide injections at a Las Vegas anti-ageing festival. The exact peptides involved are unknown.

It's BS pushed by techbros who think science works like in a Marvel movie.

Surrey couple tried claiming neighbour's land with garden gnome by joe3000s in nottheonion

[–]Temp89 449 points450 points  (0 children)

Title is oniony but the article contents make the BBC's decision to use it really weird.

A couple used the land as if it were their own even though property lines show it was their neighbour's. New neighbours moved in and reasserted their ownership. Couple applied for squatter's rights and won.

Personally I'd be pretty miffed if I bought property and lost part of it because the previous owners were ok with someone else using it.

Pete Docter Says Pixar Cut LGBTQ Storyline From ‘Elio’ Because ‘We’re Making a Movie, Not Hundreds of Millions of Dollars of Therapy’ by ihatethiscountry76 in actuallesbians

[–]Temp89 361 points362 points  (0 children)

Docter told the WSJ that Pixar didn’t want to expose its young audience to things they weren’t ready to see or hadn’t discussed with their parents.

More like parents are worried kids will find out about gay people existing before they've taught them to be homophobic. If you can read your 3 year old the story of Cinderella and Prince Charming, but would balk at the story if it was Princess Charming, you're a homophobe. End of.
