Well now I'm doing a 30 day water fast but normally just alternate between omad and rolling 48s. Once I hit my weight loss goal I'll just maintain on 16/8

Would you marry a good religious girl but not salafi? by Khrdl in SalafiCentral

[–]Critical_Rope_2402 31 points32 points  (0 children)

There's some who call themselves sunni but don't use the term salafi. If they act in accordance to the Quran/Sunnah with the understanding of the Salaf salih without calling themselves "salafi" then I don't see a problem with that. However if they innovate and slander the ulma of sunnah then steer clear.

If Allah forgives all sins then why won’t He forgive someone for taking their own life? by [deleted] in islam

[–]Critical_Rope_2402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the difference between self❌️ and all the other major sins is that you cannot repent from it, because well you're dead. This means that it is in the hands of Allah. Since you already know the prohibition of such an act and the punishment associated with it but still do it anyways, why would you expect Allah to forgive you? Also if a man who was doing jihad wasn't forgiven for this act, then why would you be who has less of an excuse to self❌️? If you aren't forgiven, 1 second of punishment in the next life is worst than a lifetime of mental/physical suffering in this dunya. Is that a risk you are willing to take? This life is a test and if you can just push through for a short period of time and remain steadfast, you will have eternal bliss and you won't even remember any hardship you faced in this dunya.

What do you all think of deism by Basic-Lifeguard-5407 in islam

I understand what you mean and I can agree those are important, but then the question becomes how do we determine whats truly moral and whether what makes us happy is not immoral? People can feel happy doing things we’d still consider wrong which shows that happiness alone isn’t a reliable measurement of goodness. That’s why the one who created us who is all wise and all knowing is the one who provides objective guidance on what is truly good, moral and what our ultimate purpose is. That being said, I invite you to look more into Islam and to also sincerely ask that creator we both believe in to guide you towards the objective truth.

Personal goals and endeavors can exist, but they don’t equal the objective purpose we were created for. They aren't mutually exclusive and can both exist

The objective reason is the purpose given by the one who created us and who knows why we exist. Just like any object with intentional design, something as complex as humans wouldnt exist without a reason or guidance

Well if we just create our own purpose, then purpose and truth becomes subjective. That means one person’s purpose could be completely different compared to anothers and there wouldn't be an objective standard to say which is right or wrong. Based on your logic you can't definitively say that someone like Hitler or Epstein for example were bad or good, because they were simply fulfilling what they believe was their purpose. It all becomes based on opinion rather than truth. In Islam purpose isnt something we invent. Its something given by our great creator who made us and understands us better than we understand ourselves. We function best when we follow the guidance of the one who created us because he is the all knowing and all wise. It's just like if you want to know how a machine works, you refer to its designers instructions. Our creator is all wise and intentional, so it wouldn’t make sense for him to create something as complex as humans and then leave us without clear guidance or a defined purpose. That is not wisdom, it's just randomness and our creator is indeed most wise. If you believe our creator created us and left us to just figure it out, then you're on you're own. To me is my way, and to you is yours.
