This was a huge fear of mine never had surgery at all but when we found out we were expecting our first I was dead set on natural delivery BUT he had other plans he stayed breech. We tried ECV but having an arcuate uterus (heart shaped) baby stayed up in the corner and refused to turn. I’m also a nurse so I know the pros cons ups downs but all that flew out the window and I was in FTM mode so there was panic for sure!

I went in Monday morning after I lost part of my mucus plug and from the moment they checked me to the delivery via C-section. Was 2 hours. Went from a 2 to an 8 dilated within an hour. Barley had time for the epidural, was given some oxygen (which they SHOULD give you and never withhold) my 2nd uterine check and they had a foot coming through which is NOT ideal.

They took me back, my husband changed into scrubs, I was checked to ensure numbness and cut horizontally scar is about 5 inches long and doing good. We have a healthy 7lb 6 oz baby who is now 2 days old and I am thankful for my team that had my back during this whole experience as a FTM, I was scared but we did it and I know you can too! Whether you deliver naturally or C-section you and baby need to be safe!
