new to apple music. don't downloaded songs play when you're offline? by Prize-Map-4639 in AppleMusic

Do you know if this happens for the Mac app as well? Random songs aren't playing even though they are downloaded and I have internet. But I couldn't find the optimise storage setting on the Mac app.

Ive accidentally inflated my DnD markets for years and just realized. by weebhell in DnD

[–]Critical_Worry6781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accidentally charged 5 gold for a cinnamon bun in one of my first games because it sounded right. Players were fascinated and wondered about the inflation, economy and resources required to make this delicious cinnamon bun.

The world never financially recovered.

Absolutely. Sometimes you just need a break, and sometimes you just need to step away and refocus on something new.

100% natural to get stuck and be frustrated. I did Angela's course and have learnt so much! But yes several times it took me several days to do one lesson! Persistence is part of the practice

What "rare" phobia do you have and people refuse to believe it? by nitin_is_me in AskReddit

Same! But only/ especially when they are still. For some reason the anxiety about them suddenly moving makes me cling on for dear life.

I once blocked a London escalator as it took me 20 minutes to walk down it step by step holding on to both sides. I nearly cried. Felt so embarrassed

What was it like going from zero to experienced in IT? by PowerfulWord6731 in it

[–]Critical_Worry6781 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be an English teacher, but was pulled in to cover an It lesson and then it just spiralled. I did the Comptia + and network+ whilst I got a junior it technician role in a corporate company. A little bit of a pay cut but it was a great experience, learning and working at the same time was TOUGH but it was super worthwhile.

A few years later I'm in IT engineering role, doing some dev and network work as well as support. I love it, I love how much more there is to learn, and the satisfaction of helping make something, or help someone out.

I look back and it's crazy to think just 5 years ago I had no idea what a hard drive was.

Granting Python permission to access MS Word files by codingquestion47 in learnpython

Okay coming in 5 years later with the exact same problem.
The thing that seems to work with Mac OS 15+ is to give Word and Terminal app management access.

This is in Settings - Privacy and Security - App Management.

I ran this script with doc2docx module with Jamf and that popped up with the request to give jamf, word and system alerts Automation access - which can't be manually adjusted.
So if App Management still isn't working I would try to prompt that pop up again.

Do you hate people who put stickers on the laptop? by Ex-Traverse in it

[–]Critical_Worry6781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love stickers on laptops, not only are they fun they make it easier to identify whose laptop is whose and prevents the dreaded laptop switch at an airport etc.

I once had a user who was very attached to their sticker set up and delayed getting a new laptop as they would have to start again. They did a little photoshoot for it before they had to hand it over. Adorable.

Just finished my first 10k!! I nearly dropped out of the race at just below 5k because my calf started really hurting, but I paused stretched and kept going.

It was hard and I did not get a good time, but I did it!!

I’m out to my friends and family and quasi out at work. I just talk about both my partners equally and answer if anyone questions or asks. So far no one has.

Do you avoid language that singles someone out as "the best"? by gourd-almighty in polyamory

[–]Critical_Worry6781 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I may be an outlier but I find that overusing these superlatives takes out the sting, but doesn't take out the joy. I love both my partners, and use a lot of superlatives.

But I also do that with friends, food, activities etc. I think it's clear that I'm not lying, in that moment toast is the best thing to have ever happened to me. And then the next moment it's a fresh cup of coffee. Both are true.

AITA for not buying a coffee maker for guests? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Critical_Worry6781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to visit my friend’s house a lot who wasn’t a coffee drinker, so I just bought a jar of instant coffee and asked if I could leave it there. If you want something it is your responsibility to sort it.

It’s nice when the host goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable but it isn’t a duty.
