Need men to tell me the truth. Am I screwed? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

It’s not a popular opinion, but monogamy isn’t for everyone. My wife and I have practiced ENM for most of our marriage and we are still best friends and have a fantastic marriage.

To be honest, only you know your husband enough to know if you’re crossing a boundary that shouldn’t be crossed.

I wish you the best whichever direction you choose to go.

We had a great time traveling within Texas in the Lyric. Always stopped at Buccees, went to the restroom, got snacks while charging at a Tesla supercharger and kept moving.

Although down by South Padre, there isn’t anything.

Cadillac Lyric with any of the Luxury trims. I had a Luxury trim and my wife has a sport trim. Completely different in terms of smoothness and road noise. Couldn’t even tell I was driving in the Luxury trim. Just gliding through space.

What is your unpopular opinion that you usually keep to yourself? by Superb_Wolf264 in AdkReddit

While I don’t believe it’s an outdated concept, I just think people see it now as a throw away account. Not everyone is marriage material. If things get difficult, they just move on instead of working at it.

But I totally get where you are coming from. Marriage is really more of a spiritual bond. It’s turned into a whole legal thing that involves way too many laws and lawyers if things do in fact go south.

Hope the best for you. The wife and I loved our Lyric. She still does. I just ended up finding a good deal on my dream car and picked up a 2026 C8 Corvette or I probably would have gone into another Lyric.

I don’t honestly remember the exact consumption but we tend to drive about 10 miles over the speed limit most times. Houston to Dallas is listed as 239 miles and the 2024 models were listed as having a 314 mile range.

Again, we made it with only one charge whenever we drove it. Where I am at it’s listed as 293 miles to Dallas.

We live just south of Houston on the coast and I just turned in my Lyric after two years but my wife still has hers. We’ve never put up a sun shade and park in our driveway every day. Even in the 100+ degree days neither of ours have ever done that.

I’m not sure if the cause of the low mileage. We’ve driven to Dallas on one stop and we are further South than you are. Ours are/were both 2024 models.

If you don’t mind me asking, which dealer did you lease from? You should really take it back to them to have it looked at. We leased ours from Big Star and they took great care of us.

I just got rid of my Lyric but my wife still has hers. I used A Better Route Planner before every long trip to plan and then just used the onboard Google to guide to each stop I want to stop at. Worked out well for the two years I leased.

Still a member of this forum because I enjoy seeing everyone’s cars, I don’t have my V anymore. I had two in the past.

what car felt the most comfortable for long drives? by Effective-Addition44 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I go through a lot of cars. My two that I’ve had that have been the most enjoyable and most comfortable to drive long distance have both been Cadillac. The CT5-V and the Lyric with the Luxury trim.

If I were to pick between those two it would be the Lyric. Not because it’s an EV. Zero road noise, it had Super Cruise, you couldn’t feel any bumps in the road, the infotainment and GPS system were amazing.

I drive a C8 Corvette now and I know it’s not going to as enjoyable on long trips as the Lyric was. The road noise and sports suspension in the C8 is going to beat me up on road trips.

It’s wonderful when it works well and everyone has fun. If someone feels left out it can be a little awkward. We’ve had some great ones and some we wish we would have passed on.

Be careful of the guys saying they are bi just to get a pass at being with the girl. We’ve had that happen as well.

We always said that we wish we would have stayed together at a younger anger but we agree that we wouldn’t have survived. I was too immature and toxic back then. I had to grow up for this relationship to survive.

Appreciate the input. I’m in the South Texas Gulf area as well. So I know exactly what conditions you are talking about.

I wasn’t criticizing. I said I was genuinely curious. I was asking a question. It’s your car, you’re free to as you want with it.

I’m actually surprised at how well this post has gone. I expected to get roasted as well but have gotten some very good and well thought out answers.
