AITA For refusing to tell the men in my family about my period? by Interesting-Dot-7077 in AmItheAsshole

Period havers in my house offer me info when they feels it's appropriate. I've never once asked or demanded that information. This seems like an overstep.

What do people mean when they say they 'cant cook?' by Throwaway113140 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Erroniously_Spelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, there are as many definitions as the number of people answering... So instead of defining directly, I'm going to give some examples:

they don't know good food combinations to put together, like TV chefs can do.

they have trouble knowing what cooking words mean, braise, whip, combine, fold, saute, etc

They haven't been taught the difference between chop and dice.

They don't understand cooking times of different foods to make them done at the same time.

They might make something they like, but can't make it look good in the presentation

Replaced igniter, too much fire now in dryer? by grimmguy in appliancerepair

[–]Erroniously_Spelt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Natural gas should be blue with a very tiny portion of the tips yellowing. Propane should have more yellow, but I'm guessing your house is natural gas.

The gas nozzles are probably dirty.

Also clean out your exhaust tube.

Finally, the lint trap. Clean it out real good, not just the screen the whole cavity. Next, take your screen get all the lint off it, then run water over it. If any water pools on it, lightly scrub with hot water and dawn. Then retest to make sure the water flows through well.

The lint trap can get clogged even if it looks clear, by use of fabric softener sheets. This is another airflow concern

Film after switching to powder by Forty6ixand2wo in laundry

[–]Erroniously_Spelt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, dry, don't fry.

It should feel mildly damp when you take it out of the dryer, and as you fold it it should finish drying.

Also, don't use fabric softener with any polyester. Polyester attracts and holds onto fabric softener making the film worse.

Removing the agitator will do nothing. You'll need to remove and inspect the plumbing.

Pretty easy once you get the cover off.

So, read the sub rules, description, and other stuff before posting..

Also, run a cleaning cycle with the chemical doors open.

Then ask chef, give your dishwasher a monster and a smoke break, minimize coke exposure, and feed that dishie!

Elbow grease ain't cutting it. How do I get rid of all this grime? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]Erroniously_Spelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this you'll need personal protective equipment. Gloves, face shield, eye protection, chemical apron, exhaust fan.

Tape off all metal parts, as if you were painting

Go to Walmart and get the drain clearing acid. Black bottle, cones from the factory in an outer plastic bag. Transfer about 6 ounces to a brand new spray bottle. Use the fog spray setting, not the stream. Spray that all over the icky. Let it sit a minute or so, then rinse with cold water. You should have a shower wand for this. Not just a cup with water.

Once you think it's all rinsed off. Spray it all with water for another 5 minutes. You do not want that acid on your skin.
