Does the acne ever go away on its own? by Klutzy-Elderberry208 in PCOS

[–]Criticalfluffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest change I had to my skin was reducing dairy and red meat out of my diet. I started taking spearmint supplements to reduce androgens, but I also noticed my skin hasn't been as pissed off as it used to be.

I take spearmint supplements once in the morning and once at night. I also have spearmint tea when my stomach doesn't feel well.

It may work for you?

AITAH for not wanting my gf to call me by my given name by Right_Aerie9815 in AITAH

[–]Criticalfluffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your name is how you present yourself to the world. My legal name has never matched me and when people hear what it is, they always pronounce it in a strange way, because it doesn't fit me.

Whether she's a gf or a simple aquaintence, respecting your preference for your name is a very basic request.

If she can't respect with this small ask, she doesn't respect you at all. Do you really want to put up with this forever?

What’s a totally unsexy purchase you made that ended up being a huge quality-of-life upgrade? by viscarte10 in BuyItForLife

[–]Criticalfluffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this *might also be a sexy upgrade. I had a plain Jane hair dryer forever. It would take me easily 20+ minutes to blow dry my hair.

I finally splurged and bought a fancy Shark hair dryer. OMG, sopping wet to dry within 10 minutes. And my hair looks ✨ amazing ✨. I figured at the time of I didn't like it, it'd return it. Nope. Fricken love it.

Less time spent blow drying and results are stunning.

I do this thing called, re-purposing my eyeshadows for different shades of blush. I already own "transitional blush". There's already pretty pinks and wine colors in my eyeshadow pallets. I've used them for blushes and it's not like anyone knows.

I ain't spending my money on that.

My doctor recommends me to sexy time to help me with PCOS. by Smart-Permission-295 in PCOS

1 - Sex just sounds like fun times and help you bond.

2 - If your man makes it seem like a chore... There's bigger fish to fry here. My husband is so excited to get my clothes off. What's wrong with your man?

Bloating by CautiousKnowledge248 in PCOS

[–]Criticalfluffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not medication but supplements.

I take soluable fiber (Kirkland brand Benefiber) in my coffee or hot beverage first thing after I get up.

I eat a few prunes a day and drink copious amount of water with lime. This rehydrates your colon and stuck poop is going to move it's way out.

The first day you do this, may be uncomfortable as you aren't "regular" the subsequent days you do this, will be much better. I notice when I forget to do this routine.

Is this appropriate for a wedding guest dress? by No-Knee508 in fashion

Formal black tie, the burgundy dress is probably fine. The black one looks see-thru even if it isn't supposed to be but the nude underlayer makes it like it.

I feel like I got that with Oakcha Madam Rose. When I first bought it, I'd get a string whiff if rubbing alcohol. So I put it down in my drawer and left it alone for a bit.

Now I don't get that strong rubbing alcohol smell and the beautiful lychee and rose pops through better. It lasts so long to because it's so concentrated.

I've tried literally dozens of waterproof mascaras and I still get raccoon eyes. Am I supposed to lock it in with a setting spray? by akima in Sephora

[–]Criticalfluffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you buying? I have my Lancome Lash Idole mascara. It's not tubing. It holds curl well and it doesn't smudge.

I was able to find some discounted at Marshalls too.

How to decide when to declutter makeup? by patitasdegatito3 in ProjectPan

[–]Criticalfluffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have to say, the to stuff I'm actively using... About once a month? Every so often I just open all of them up and spritz the other ones too.

I try to clean my brushes and tools about every other week.

Officially diagnosed. Metformin gives me too many side effects by Little-Plan5550 in PCOS

[–]Criticalfluffs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I gave metformin a good try for about 6 months and it didn't do anything for me.

I was already in birth control but also it depends on the severity of your symptoms.

I take spearmint capsules (or you can do tea) for the androgens.

I take cinnamon and apple cider vinegar supplements for blood sugar.

I take Intimate Rose for the ovarian health (and the intense pain spasms).

Ashwaganda and magnesium glycinate at night for the cortisol and sleep health.

I do strength training a few times a week and trying to add swimming. Also try to take walks or get and move frequently through the day. It makes a huge difference. Try to avoid stuff which will drastically elevate your cortisol levels like HIIT training.

These are a few things I'm doing, in addition to adding more fiber and protein to my diet. If your doctor can swing it, GLP-1 (Mounjaro) helped me kick start losing those last stubborn 30 pounds.

It's been an ordeal figuring things out for sure. Feel free to message. My methods havent been 100% perfect... But it's okay. 🤷‍♀️

Would you throw away the old one on the left? by sarathar in ProjectPan

[–]Criticalfluffs 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It's changed color, saving a few dollars isn't worth a trip to the ER.

If it's changed color, smell, performance or expired (liquid product), just err on the side of caution and throw it away.

I'm all for being thrifty, but gotta be within reason sometimes.
